I still don't understand this interest in Urban Meyer. The guy is sleezy. Covered up domestic violence for his coach for years. What the.....?

I would love to see Riley here, especially since we're likely stuck with Dak. He did wonders with Baker, Kyler, and Hurts, so maybe he's the quarterback whisperer we need for Dak.
Meyer is a top coach. You may not like him personally, but he is good at his job. Jimmy covered up for his players when he was in Dallas. He was winning so I guess that is ok.

I wonder if anyone has contacted Jerry to get a feel for Garrett's availability. He seems to think Garrett will draw interest if he were to be on the open market.

I was listening to 105.3 the Fan and they had Jane Slater on and she shared that Stephen has had meetings with Urban Meyer, Lincoln Riley, and Tony Elliot.

She said she still believes JG will be a HC for another team in the league but that the writing is on the wall.

Just wanted to share!
if this is accurate, i'd like to thank you profusely for sharing.

Meyer is a top recruiter. Not a top coach.

Ohio State got better when he left.

You don't recruit in the NFL.

I don't understand the interest in coaches who haven't even been an assistant coach at the NFL level.
Some people don't understand getting same ol same ol run downs, has beens and never was type coaches that litter NFL right now.

P.S. having NFL coaching experience is overrated IMO. Needs new blood and creativity. These college coaches have to deal with losing old talent and getting new talent everyday.nothing to sneeze at if they do it well. Urban Meyer has

Worst special teams in the NFL and a weak defense, but what we really need is a QB whisperer. Can't wait to see Riley beat Iowa State 42-41 and lose to Kansas State 48-41. We've already got that kind of defense. :muttley:

As for Meyer, he's elevated every team he coached. They all got better. Two of them won national titles.

Riley was handed an already established program and still hasn't won anything.
OK, name the head coach that is both an offensive and defensive guru and can fix all of a football team with his playbook.

Dak is not a good passing quarterback. Same went for Jalen Hurts. Kyler Murray and Baker Mayfield were transfers. Look what Riley did with them. Two Heismans, two first overall picks, and a guy this year that can suddenly pass.

Can he do that with Dak?

He can then go find his Saleh type guy for DC.

After these past few weeks, and this team's collapse, how would any team sign on for Garrett and their own version of that?

Seriously?

Jane needs to separate her like for Garrett the person from Garrett the NFL Head Coach. She's hurting her reputation at this point.

Never underestimate how stupid some NFL franchises are. Retreads even worse than Garrett get second chances all the time.

As much as I like this, what about DC and OC? Moore might stay, but Richard or Rod are going to be fired. What will we do about them? What about ST coordinator? We have a lot of coach hunting to do.

Garrett apparently is respected in NFL circles.

But how can any team who hires him sell him to their fanbase? The few Giants fans I know want nothing to do with him. It's as if he has ebola.

They want him to stay in Dallas

I can't think of one with so many negative accolades as he has.

No, his is the story of an owner's 10-year vanity project and the damage it has ultimately wrought. A decade of failure while never achieivng anything close to what those in his tenure group have done.

And now a team that the world has seen quit on him and an owner actively shopping for his replacement while he's still sitting in the seat.

Good luck to the schmuck who tries to sell him to their fanbase, I'm just glad it won't be our schmuck any longer.
