Ok. Just clarifying. You post carried with the the connotation that coaches on playoffs teams are not available for interviews. At least in my mind. And that's not true. As you state. They certainly can interview if given permission from their current franchise.
Most teams usually do not grant permission in the playoffs unless they have a bye week because they want and need their coaches focused on preparing for the game in a few days, not an interview.

Even teams with a bye week usually won't give permission depending on which team and which conference the team is from that is asking.

Lastly, even if permission would be given, many coaches feel obligated to the team they are with and would prefer not to create a distraction during the playoffs.

So, if your goal was to be "technically" right, then good for you I guess. If you were actually being more realistic and genuine, my answer still applies.

The fact Jerry thinks he has to wait for Garrett's contract to run out is ludicrous.

Tom Landry was fired. The Broncos fired Mike Shanahan. Andy Reid was fired.

Oh, but not Jason. Not our precious 8-8son. He's too good for such incivility. Out of respect for his clapping and platitudes, we must let him leave with the ultimate dignity.

Generally I agree. But I think the Chiefs gave permission because it was a HC position. I would imagine if a coach on any team had the opportunity to interview for a HC position regardless of their playoff status, that coach would be granted permission if they asked for it.

But probably not for a lateral move. Just my two cents.

If Jerry and Stephen are letting this news continue when they know Garrett has not been fired than they are more dysfunctional than I thought.

Nah. Did you really think the Joneses pay any attention to the news, or anything at all besides their own byzantine machinations? They live in their own world, and they don't look outside it.
