There is no denying his time in GB can be deemed a successful one:

2006-2018

204 games

125 wins 77 losses 2 ties .618 winning %

18 playoff games 10 wins 8 losses

2010 Super Bowl Champions

2014 Lost NFC Championship game

2016 Lost NFC Championship game

There were complaints by Packers QB Aaron Rodgers about play calling but Rodgers can be a bit of a head case so I would dismiss that. However, early in 2019 McCarthy was involved in an incident at his step-son's basketball game where he followed and verbally berated officials after his step-son's team lost:

He reportedly has already assembled a staff in his desire to seek a head coaching position again but how would he interact with Jerry Jones and would he be the voice this team needs to change their reputation from powder puffs to a smash mouth, take no crap team???????

One superbowl with perhaps the most talented QB of this generation. Im not saying I hate it, but Im not excited either. They were past ready when he was released from GB. The team looked terrible towards the end of his tenure. At least that's how I remember it.
Yeah and Sean Payton same thing. 1 SB with NFL all time leading passer, cool.

What's it going to be then, eh?

This first coaching interview is kind of how the Cowboys kick off every free agency period.

Like with what amounts to a shart you fear may have made contact with your tidy whiteys.

Waiting for news and you get McCarthy and Marvin Lewis.

"Former Cincinnati Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis is another potential candidate for Dallas. Rapoport reports the organization is interested in Lewis, who served as a special adviser to Herm Edwards and the Arizona State football program during the 2019 season."

Is it April Fools already? That's an old Dan Snyder move there...

Outdated rule IMO.
I don’t think it’s outdated I think it needs to happen but I don’t know how to tweak it. Teams literally bring in the same 3 guys every year and rotate them. Caldwell, Richard, Lewis, etc.

It has to happen though because it does put certain guys on notice. I think it’s helped Richard get a better look.

Which is why it's hard to tell how good or bad McCarthy really is.

Marvin Lewis gets a tough break but he manages to consistently get into the playoffs and he didn’t have the best of teams. My main concern though is he’s the same voice as Garrett. Maybe he doesn’t clap as much but I don’t think that’s the right voice to hire after Garrett. Make no mistake though he can coach in this league. He knows what he’s doing. But I don’t think he’s the coach to get us over the hump we can’t seem to get over.

I wouldn’t say that making the playoffs seven out of sixteen years is consistent. What I will say is that when he did make the playoffs, he was consistently one and done.

Lewis had a few very good teams. I think they got screwed in the playoff game against Pittsburgh when it was a blatant late hit on the QB. Dalton, took him out of the game. And no penalty called. SteAlers went on to win.

When the Bengals lost their OC Hugh Jackson and DC Mike Zimmer was when Lewis could not keep them winning.
Still do not want Lewis as HC though.

How messed up is it that they're scheduling interviews and they still can't bring themselves to show Garrett the door?

Who does this?
