I wonder how the interviews went today with Jason standing in the hallway?

Who said he was standing in the hallway?
I heard he was translating Jerry's questions for Lewis and McCarthy.
Makes sense given that he hasn't been able to teach JJ how to speak English properly in the last ten years.

I saw some report that they hadn’t met with JG since Monday. Which means that didn’t take long.

Garret knows this is the only NFL HC job he's ever going to have. He's going to cling and sell sell sell
JG’s idea of campaigning:
Pasting “finish the fight” posters all over JJ’s office, perhaps leaving a case of JWB, playing a CD of “Memories” by Barbara Streisand.
Can he really make any other case to stay?
Just sad.

He talked his way into this job and I guess we shouldn't be surprised he continues to lobby.

No need to kick Garrett while he is down. I don't think he is the begging type. The Cowboys have immense respect for him, but it was time to move on. I also wish Jerry would vacate the GM position. This ownership has a lot to do with our failure to become an elite team again since the early 90s.

My fear is now Jerry is looking for veteran assistants to come in under Garrett and if he can get them to agree, he will let Garrett keep his job. Why else would you publically begin the search before getting Garrett out of the building. I hope the delay isn’t because Jerry and Garrett made a deal for him to keep his job and that deal being big name coordinations with head coaching experience to run their side of the ball and Jason just remain the figure head coach. I think I’m going to be sick.
McCarthy is not working under Garrett bro, trust me. The dude has a SB ring.

Garrett can get on all 4s and beg like a dog for his job, but its not going to do a dam bit of good.

Stephen doesn't view Garrett as part of the family, that's the problem Garrett has. Remember, it was Stephen and not Jerry that went on the raido with all of the "get the team over the hump" ultimatums for Garrett.

Pitiful. Again, this is like a divorce situation. LET HIM GO, JASON!

This is like when you break up with your ex and she keeps calling your cell phone 20 times a day and is waiting for you at your house when you get home from work. She says she "just wants to talk about it".

That's, Garrett.............he is like please Jerry, can we just talk about this, please, please, please, please.

Garrett is at the star banging on the front door since his access card doesn't work and Jerry is hiding in his office with all the lights out saying, "is he gone yet".

This is just pathetic, yet hilarious at the same time.:lmao2:

Makes one embarrassed to be a fan of a team that conducts business like this.
This should have been handled firmly, swiftly and with class. If Jerry was going to fire him, he should have met with Garrett Monday morning and let him go. Jerry also should have requested that he pack his stuff and leave quickly to avoid this circus that they now have on their hands. It may be unpleasant, but they are adults and professionals. This situation looks like it is being handled by high school kids.

it's a shame after 2 coaching interviews that this FO just hasn't coming out and made an official statement that Jason Garrett's services will not be retained, its as easy as that.

The way they handled this so far does not instill any confidence in the front office at all. This is a joke!

It is not the ownership position that Jerry fails with. It is the GM position and the combination of owner-GM has been a circus since Jimmy left. Jimmy is a super smart man and he knew that this way of running things could not produce decent teams year after year. Jerry has been a great owner. I don’t have to list his long line of accomplishments, but being the best owner in the NFL does not stroke the part of Jerry’s ego that needs to be fulfilled. Jerry wants to be a legitimate “football guy” so bad , but his ego and lack of understanding what it takes to field a top team every year has killed this organization.

In my opinion, the incessant begging being done by Garrett is because the Jones family has enabled him since he was given the offensive coordinator job over a decade ago.
The sad truth of it all is that you really can't blame Garrett because he was given a free pass for so long to basically fail and be rewarded.

Has anyone ever known or been involved with a family that threw money at a son or daughter thinking that it may help dysfunctional behavior like drug use or an inability to keep a job?
How about families that give habitual drug users shelter because they can't piss clean and be a functioning members of society?
If you would have told me right after the Commanders game that 1 week later we would not know the status of Carrot, I would have said you’re nuts. Yet, here we are.
this is exactly what I told everyone on the forum would happen! I guess that makes me major nuts

Botched in every way. Even the most diehard of homers can't come up with a reasonable explanation for it. When that happens, you know things are really bad.

It clearly shows how feelings are far too much of a concern within this organization. To it's continued detriment.

They can't admit that they fired Scott Linehan - wouldn't want anyone's feelings hurt.

They can't simply promote Kris Richard to defensive coordinator - might hurt Old Rod's feelings. So we get a muddled mess for a defense.

And now they can't even fire someone right in a head coach that clearly underachieved and deserves it after getting ten years of more patience than he deserved.

But yeah, wouldn't want to hurt anyone's feelings while trying to win a championship, would we?

The manchild without Jerry is like Linus without his blanket.

Jason, grow a set, man up and move on.
