Signed by Cowboys Mike Nolan is our new Defensive Coordinator

*** yah!!

Get ready for some accountability, ladies.

And LB's NOT 8 yards off the LOS.
If they be 8 yards off... they better be screaming like a falling angel towards that line of scrimmage at the hike. Like a comet through a line not seeing it coming.

I said lobbying for being fired for 13 years. Didn't say as HC. Looks like you are the one with the comprehension problems. DOH!!!

You're PS4 is calling little boy.
You've been looking for an argument all day.
Go play Spiderman and let real men who know football talk, K?

His defenses typically generate a good number of turnovers.

From what I can gather. His defenses will give up more plays than a Marinelli “bend but don’t break” defend. But they will also make more big plays.

If you look at the Ravens defense they are the same way. They crowd the LOS. Don't play off the WRs. Get after the QB. But will give up a big play on occasion.

They also get TOs and Sacks, however. Personally, I'd rather have that than the slow death of bend but don't break.

Plus. I've heard both MM and Nolan like big fat one tech DTs in the middle.

Agreed. A more aggressive style of defense will be a welcome change.

I like the sound of that. Maybe our draft choices will change.

The Ravens were 21st in the NFL in sacks and 12th in INTs.

He hasn't been a DC since 2014. Has been on a downward trend in his career ladder. Fired from HC. Demoted from DC and is now a LB coach. That is not very promising. But coaches love bringing their buddies along for the ride. NFL loves re-treads. I don't think this is much of an upgrade at all from Marinelli.

(Continuing to flood every thread with how you feel doesn't make you smart.)
(Nor does not being able to laugh.)

Threads about Mike Nolan.
How many years did he coach with Norv Turner?
What was Brian Billicks record with Mike Nolan as his Defensive Coordinator?
Those type thing are more interesting here than your hate relationship with Jason Garrett.

Its great to see posts like these . People actually have a real sense of Hope. Haven’t seen this kind of genuine enthusiasm and solidarity in a long time. We can and will argue later , but We can enjoy this for the time being

So true. Urban was and will always be my first choice, but today brings hope with McCarthy and Nolan. Really, more than anything it’s just nice to see JG gone. Hope restored!

Cool. Now I wonder what he's going to do with the D and these players.
What kind of scheme is he going to bring with him?

It’s a bad hire.

His defenses have been terrible. Fact.

Not going to bother posting the link to pro football ref.

We’d be better off with Marinelli

Aggressive but he will need to solidify the secondary because he relies on man and blanket coverage to bring the heat up front:

Unlike the passive coverages and blitzes seen under Van Gorder, Mike Nolan employs a tenacious defense bent on pressuring the QB and overwhelming the offensive line. This involves blitzes from the LB corps, and coordination amongst the Front Seven. Nolan's aggressiveness leaves the secondary in some tight positions, relying on man coverage with safety blankets from the safeties. Thus with a solid secondary, Nolan is allowed to be more creative with his blitzes.

From his Atlanta stint...

Look at the defense rankings from his tenure.

They stink.

We are talking bottom of the league.
