The way I see it is that Dak has improved certain things each season, but still has some pretty glaring flaws that I’d like to see him fix. Gosh, some of his passes this last season were absolute laser beams that hit the receivers between the numbers - showing real arm talent - but then he’s still prone to spraying the ball around as well. He has a real tendency to not set his feet, which factors negatively to his accuracy and he also likes to throw off his back foot too often. It’s maddening sometimes, but Dak is not another Aikman or Romo, so I stopped wishing he is.

I think the bottom line here is that Dak has had the same crappy head coach and scheme for 4 seasons and he’s still improved every year. And although I don’t really think Dak is the kind of QB that can or will put the team on his shoulders and will them to a win, he is a damn tough QB, a good leader and has shown to be a winner. The dude is a good football player.

We finally have a new coach. A coach that has a history of grooming QB’s. A coach that has his own “QB School.” Whether you like Dak or not, don’t you want a chance to see him play with a competent coaching staff and a better scheme before we ship him off prematurely? At least one season?

I do. Franchise the guy and let’s see what he’s really made of.
At issue is the fact Dak wants to break the bank which will reduce the ability to sign a supporting cast. Dak gets 40 million, Amari gets the tag for one year then he's gone. Quinn may be gone.

He's in the league because he's talented at football. Same can be said for the likes of Nathan Peterman. Does that mean he needs to be a starter and paid 35+ mil? No. It doesn't. Everyone who makes it to the NFL is talented, but I'm comparing Dak to other QB's and other players in the NFL, and compared to them, his talent is average/mediocre.
Dak Prescott - 2019 season:

2nd highest passing yards (4,902) in the NFL, 30 passing TDs, 11 INTs, 99.7 passer rating.
http://www.nfl.com/stats/categoryst...ACK&qualified=true&season=2019&seasonType=REG

4th best season QBR (70.1) behind only Jackson, Mahomes and Brees.
https://www.espn.com/nfl/qbr/_/seasontype/2

Was only 1 yard away from tying Romo's franchise single season passing record, and 2 yards away from breaking it (plus, less than 100 yards away from reaching 5K passing yards in a season) if only he had been allowed to pass the ball in the 4th quarter with a 31 point lead with over 8:00 left in the game against the Commanders during Week 17.

Yeah, Dak is average/mediocre. Pfft. What a joke!

Wins are a stat. How many of those did he have this season since we’re talking stats? Yards? C’mon. You really wanna go off that metric? The top 5 QB’s in that metric we’re mediocre-bad this year. Winston, Goff, Ryan, and Rivers were the other QB’s. Yards mean NOTHING. Just like Dak, they accumulated their yards in garbage time. AH, QBR. The metric nobody understands how it’s even calculated. Who cares about Romo’s franchise record? Does that give us an extra win and a shot to the Superbowl? No? Then who CARES!? Even Dak himself said he doesn’t care about being 2nd. He only cares about wins and Superbowls. He admit he didn’t play well enough his season. Maybe you guys should follow suit. Just a suggestion though.

This Coach and the Offense I believe he will implement will definitely tell us what we have in Prescott, in terms of being able to be accurate.

I don't love Mike McCarthy but then again, I believe in balance and I believe in running the ball. McCarthy is not that guy IMO. His offenses are not balanced and while he does put up a lot of Offense, it's usually heavily weighted towards the pass. I hope we don't see that from him but I suspect we will.

That's just my opinion.

Show me/us where Dak said he didn't play good/well enough this 2019 season.

“I didn’t make the playoffs.””I don’t play for stats” he knows he didn’t play up to standard himself.

It still doesn't mean anywhere close to Dak ever saying he didn't play good enough THIS SEASON.

It's not good to make false accusations against our franchise QB.

Can I answer that?

Most of the people who hate him are Romo fans, who for some reason blame him for Romo retiring without a ring. (They would never admit it)

Many of the people who hate him are people who had a bad opinion of him to begin with and cannot ,out of ego ,let it go now.

A few people who hate him are just trolls who like to incite others ....... They are my favorite.

A very small percentage are people who for some reason do not like his play style and prefer a traditional pocket passer like Aikman or Marino.

The rest hate him for reasons that are not appropriate for this board and I truly believe they are the smallest amount..... at least on this forum.

Man I like the signing but Dak is still a scrub that will never win a an unfortunately. Dak dreams he can play a fifth of Rodgers
You’re a joke. That’s why people laugh at you.

Over 30 “likes” for the guy who trashed you right after you posted this nonsense.

Rodgers isn't as great as he has been in the past. He has declined each year since around 4 years ago. I'm not sure if he is elite anymore

Rodgers throws an accurate pass, and in many cases is helped by his ability to laterally avoid a rush, and of course the " legal holding" technique of the Packers line that
keeps rushers most of the time off him till he can find an open receiver

No doubt this will help Dak. However, he has too many intangibles to fix IMO. Inaccuracy, footwork, timing, throwing in stride, etc. basic QB fundamentals. Despite the people around him underperforming from time to time, he had an all star cast. Zeke, a top 5 RB every year he’s been in the NFL. A 4 time pro-bowl WR in Cooper, who may not show up on the road, but is still a good WR. (Also, Cowboys Break made a good point about this. Besides D-Hop and Michael Thomas. Maybe Mike Evans or Julio Jones, what WR puts up 100 yard numbers every game? Not many. Amari is not the elite of the elite, buts he’s still good. Gallup was pretty good this year minus a few drops. Same as Cobb. O-line was great at pass blocking, yet Dak still fell off after the Pats game. Despite all that he had going for him, he failed to score on consecutive drives when we were down 31-3 against the Packers. Blame the Defense all you want, but Dak didn’t score when the Pack score 7-3, 14-3, 21-3, etc. Same as the Bears and Bills game. He failed to score a TD in the 2nd Philly game (he claims his injury didn’t bother him so I don’t want that excuse). Didn’t score one against the Pats. Or the Saints.

Bottom line: Dak isn’t our answer. He could make a great backup, and I’m sure he’s a nice dude, but we’re looking to pay for a franchise QB, not a nice dude with average football skills.

You should really be on a Philly forum fake fan.

Dismiss the trolls that oppose this narrative.
Ive been harsh on Dak as well, but Im willing to give him a final chance under the new regime, Im just a fan, that just sees what I see, so maybe just maybe, I give McCarthy and his hand picked staff the chance to correct Daks imperfections.
Can Dak be better with scheme change?
I don't know, and you don't know... so Im comfortable sitting in this position of view, does that make sense?

Not this season he hasn't.
