This was true for the early 2000s Broncos and absolutely nobody else.

You absolutely can not consistently run at a high level without a talented back. Every team who tries to do this has a crappy run game.
What NFL do you watch?

Fans care about the salary cap and how we spend our resources towards it.

Some fans think it's stupid to pay a RB a bunch of money because production at that position is mostly decided by volume and RB's tend to get hurt.
You’ve been saying the same thing everyday on here since Zeke got signed. Don’t you ever get tired?

Pre fat extension he was already an inefficient player, who lacked motivation, didn't work hard in the offseason and was coddled in season.

Does anyone expect our deal for Zeke to turn out any better?

You definitely are a one-horse man. I respect a lot that you have to say, but you need to stop beating this one because it makes you look irrational.

Some fans think and talk like it's their salary cap
While I'm not a capologist, as a fan I obviously want to see us put the best team possible on the field. The more you overpay for any position, the less you have to pay for good players at other positions.

No one got screwed like the Jets did with Le’Veon Bell. I have posts all over the board saying he wouldn’t produce in New York. He was having such a lackluster season in 2019 that he was one of the players the Jets were open to trading. He only rushed for 789 yards and averaged 3.2 a carry. No assurances he’ll be back with the Jets. Bell with such an idiot sitting out a season and throwing away 14M on the franchise tag with the Steelers and ended up not getting near the money he was looking for in free agency. Now he’s stuck on a bad team that’s looking to move on from him. May not be long before he’ll be having to take a pay cut..

Do you think the 49ers would have won the SB with a better RB?

They had a 10 point lead with just under 7 minutes to play with the RB they had.. Had they not allowed that 40+ yard play to Tyreek Hill on 3rd and 15 with just over 7 minutes left they would have won the game. The 49ers were gashing KC with the run in the second quarter. They rushed for 141 yards in the game. Their RB wasn’t the issue.

I'm pretty sure the last 10 Superbowl champs had cheap RB's too.

I don't know what to say. We did the stupid thing and now we have to find a way to win by making stupid salary cap decisions.
I mean I generally agree with this, though I would say that it was the last two years of the deal that inflated it so that Zeke could say that he is the highest paid. He was never going to see that money even if he plays at a high level for the next 3 years. They just added those years to get the deal done.

And they didn't score on what was it, their four final drives? I don't know if they would have scored with a better RB, or if they would have still gotten away from the running game, but I think if they'd had someone like Zeke or Barkley, they probably would have won the game.

When we signed Zeke to an extension, there were basically 4 years on the deal before the easy-outs started. He just chugged through one like a stud and he is going into the second completely healthy. Fingers crossed, but I think this may end up being a good deal.

CC's Cap Management Rule #1: Never give a RB a 2nd contract. It is the most plentiful position in the draft and easiest position to transition to the NFL besides P or PK.

Rule #2: If a team has the highest paid OL in the league, see Rule #1. Uh-oh.

Zeke and Barkley had several games this past season where they got shut down. The 49ers had a lot of success running the ball but their pass defense let them down. Mahomes caught fire with that big play to Tyreek Hill on 3rd and 15. It was San Francisco’s inability to stop Mahomes in the final few minutes that lost the game for them. When KC moved within three points their D stepped up.

I agree with that, but if SF had been able to continue running the ball, those 3 and outs may have been sustained drives, resulting in points at best, or taking time off the clock at worst. (As I said, if they'd been able to)

I'm happy they failed, but I'm just adding the possibility of a better RB being the critical factor.
