The LOAT without a doubt ... he is good but not 17m/yr good imo ... He should have gone to MNF

I am trying to think of a luckier person (not just player) and cannot get to name one person.

But hey, congrats and more success and happier times to him ... he is a choker when it comes to football, but a good smart business guy

From a players point of view....

New Orleans Saints wide receiver Michael Thomas is the latest player to speak out against the NFL’s collective bargaining proposal. Thomas didn’t have to go in depth when making his point, either. All he had to do was mention Tony Romo’s new contract with CBS.

Thomas, 26, argued NFL players shouldn’t agree to the new collective bargaining proposal when an NFL announcer can make more than “90% of the players.”

Apples and oranges. Why should I, as a truck driver make so much less than an NFL player?

I agree with you. I think Michael's point is the fans in the stadium people don't pay to see Romo, they pay to see the players play.

Overall, if it came down to having the truckers bringing food to the stores, and gas to the pumps, people would be much happier to see a trucker.

That's funny stuff, but honestly, I don't get where you think Romo has a tendency to get lazy.

Romo was never really in great shape as a QB. I don’t think he was viewed as a hard worker when he was in in Dallas. Was smart and had great ability but none of the determination and fire you saw and heard from a Brady or Manning. You ever wonder why Dak so easily won over that locker room?

I think there are actually people who would tune in to watch a game on TV , that they otherwise wouldn't, simply because Romo is commentating. That alone makes it worth the money to CBS.

When he wasn't injured, Romo was in very good shape, and from what I've seen, he still is, even though he doesn't even need to be anymore. As for Dak easily winning over the locker room, I think you're just guessing on that. I doubt very much that any of the players would've been upset if they'd given Romo his job back.

Sure they will. Advertisers will sign on to be in a slot with high profile personalities.
Its a given. Its a fact.

On the other end, there was an article pointing out that people were already tired of the numbers of spots being run between programming segments. Naturally to pay Romo means you have to sell more advertising, or raise the price of a spot, or both.

Its a fine line, keeping an audience interested in the programming and meeting the obligations to the advertisers. Sometimes its impossible to do both.

Not guessing at all. We all saw it. That locker room went to Dak. I don’t want to make this a big thing but Romo has to look good. He is on TV. I liked Romo. Good player. Never great.

Why would aikman care. Aikman was a better QB than Romo and in the HOF
Rush would have been a better qb w/the line Aikman had. All Aikman had to do was stand there while Romo had to run for his life year in, year out.

Fans that hated on Romo may gringe one day because last time I checked, you don't need any rings to get in. Romo's numbers are still worthy of the Hall. He's the 2nd highest rated passer in NFL history, with a rating that trumps presumed Hall of Famers Peyton, Brady and Brees.
