an engineered comeback is a 4th quarter come from behind win with a QB usually passing and directing plays with little time on the clock. Tony romo by the way has 24 of those. Dak i think has 3 . I don't recall a comeback game last year where gets credit for a win. Put simply, he does not have IT.

He did not have any last year but has 8 comeback wins and 14 game winning drives. The one thing Dak has, is being clutch. He has IT when it comes to pulling out wins.

Empty yards against infreriors , and in dead time .
Comebacks can be team driven . I think he threw one or 2 TDs for a win in his comebacks . I think all against losing teams

face it man , you are chasing a ghost called Dak . He will melt down every time against good teams . We have all seen it. Go watch last year games and see his 1-6 record against winning teams . He also managed to lose to the jets and the bears ,

So only last year counts? Did he melt against the Seahawks in the playoffs? The game that he engineered a 4th qtr winning drive. Something Wentz has never done. Foles has though.

yes but he is regressing and i don't see IT in him against quality competition . Good QBs don't regress like he did last year. Either way, don't worry jerry is paying him big to come back . so you will get to see him .

You, and others, use coaching as an excuse to defend Dak. It is the same coaching that had him passing for all of those yards this year and putting up great stats that is constantly brought up when defending Dak’s play. If his play is changing from game to game due to coaching , he has more problems than even the Dak haters knows about. Exactly how does this work? Does he only have bad coaching when he plays bad and needs an excuse for his bad game? It seems odd that the same coaching produced 400-500 yard passing days for Dak, or is Dak responsible for all that by himself?
Well you have a point. No one can have it both ways, so I'll conceed the point.

Everything under the Garrett Era was garbage stats (everything). Garrett never would have led any combination of talent to a Superbowl. He was an average HC.

So we have a 3rd party enter McCarthy. He thinks Dak has the skill set...so stats within lense of Mike McCarthy experience = Franchise Tag.

Who cares what you see in Dak. Let's keep it with the facts. Dak the 4th round comp pic has better stats than Wentz and has beaten him H2H and has played and won more playoff games. I'm sure you saw the games and saw IT when he lit up the scrub DBs Howie provided.

As for you thinking Dak only had 3 comeback wins. Maybe you forgot about the four 4th qtr comebacks and game winning drives he has against Philly? Did you see IT then? Or were you blocking out getting beat by the 4th rd scrub QB?

I think you are probably the only guy on this board that would concede that point. I got nothing but respect for you. Most Dak discussions don’t go this way.

mccoy and poe are better than collins and woods.
clinton-dix is better than heath.
The Herd is wrong....Frederick missed '18...we haven't had him for the last 2yrs.
plus on his show he failed to mention we went an entire season without him and had success.
i have never said he is easily replaceable...in this thread or any other.
no one will.
but Looney did an admirable job and McGovern...our likely starter...might be better than Joe.

Dak IS a franchise QB...2nd most wins over the last 4yrs...2 division titles for this team...2 playoff appearances...not bad for a 4th rd pick who is still under 30 and we might get him for 35 mil instead of 40.
thats a win.

turn off the herd....and duck.
flying pigs poop.
You're aware, as a Cowboys fan, that Fred played last year right? RIGHT?!?

Better Stats: Sure. He's also consistently had better offensive personnel.

H2H wins is not an individual stat.

Playoff wins is not an individual stat.

Losing your All Pro C can do that to a QB
Agreed. Losing your all pro center + question marks at RDE, LG, and losing by far your best corner. Also health questions with LVE

Good chance this team takes a slight step back next year. Don't know if you want to be on a one year prove it deal if you can avoid it, especially when the alternative is a multi year deal with pay over 30 mil a year.....

And you saw our with and without Fred statistics right?
in 2018 we finished 10-6...won the division and made the playoffs.
that year Zeke led the league in rushing and finished with 4.7 yds per carry.
i'd rather have 72 than not....but for cowherd to say this will be Dak's FIRST TIME without him at center is wrong.
for him to not mention going thru the '18 season without him and Looney filling in...admirably...is dishonest.
and to suggest to his Cowboys insider we must draft a C......when we already did in '19 with Connor McGovern...who played C at penn st before moving over to OG...and for his insider to not mention either....is dishonest.
no one will replace Frederick.
but this isnt the first time we've gone thru a season w/out him.
the success of '18 and the possibility of McGovern being better than Looney...gives me hope.
they dont need to be Travis Frederick.
they cant.
all they need to do is their job.

You are wanting to totally take away the fun. Many of us has waited months to comment on the signing and contract.
“Many of us has waited months”

Nice English.

Stop the sauce man, please no one is buying time for Prescott.
One thing that Jerry has shown is he pays and pays big for stars on the team.
Zeke, Coop,Dlaw heck even # 54 got their new deals.
But Dak got NADA a tag to prove this coming season he's worth the cash and trust me he will fall on his inept face as he did last season.
The reason Dak is not part of this group and got tagged is the simple fact the Jones aren't sold on him as the team's future Franchise QB!
Now accept it or live in la-la land Afterall its a free country.

Then explain why they would reopen discussions, if in fact the news here is factual. The new development - again, if factual - absolutely does not fit your narrative. They aren't sold on him closes out of town if they are restructuring an offer to fit his number of years.

Your point is born of a dislike for Dak, or a distrust. La-la land appears to be closer to the terrain where you stand.

Blah blah blah. Everything's on Dak's side. He'll get what he wants. We have to remember, Dak is Dallas's first quarterback ever to receive the franchise tag. Making Jerry a bit more confused.

Beautifully put . Dak has not proven anything . The majority of fans on this board voted that he doesn't deserve what he is asking for . I think we have seen enough of Dak to determine how limited he is. Jerry has a soft spot for him and likes to retain stars and usually overpays. i hope he does not shackle the team with Dak for long.
lol that is what the holdup is, jerry wants a 7 year deal ! is that "too long"??

dak is going to play on the tag and make good $, and the jones will lose money cap wise.
So the jones boys need to go along with a short contract.

Hmm, it could be media, but it’s also hard to believe they’ve been negotiating for 14 months straight and still haven’t gotten anywhere
Sure it hasn’t been 14 straight months with no gaps, but like I said, there does come a point in a difficult negotiation where nothing can happen until one side blinks or the sides finally agree to compromise, and until one of those things happen the negotiation stagnates.
