Kind of hard to get positive yards when he’s getting mauled by half the defense behind the line of scrimmage and had one of the shortest amounts of time from being handed the ball to contact by a defender which makes his yards that much more impressive

And actually, if you look at the article I posted about short yardage situations, zeke is one of the worst when it comes to game winning drives.
Slot of his negative runs are from running outside his lanes. If he just put his head down he would gain 3-5 but instead he bounces out and loses 2-5

Dak was awful against the Rams.

Zeke touched the ball five times on the first drive that basically got Amari Cooper on a slant from the slot.

The next drive, Zeke touched it once and Dak threw it twice, including for negative yardage.

The next series, after Zeke ranonce for five yards, Dak threw two incompletions.

The very next drive in hurry up, two minutes Dak was 3-1 and then sacked himself out of FG range. Zeke had 1 12 yard reception, a 15 yard and 6 yard run and a three yard run. then Dak choked.

And to start the third, again 1 completion and 2 incompletion, with 1 Zeke run.

So for a whole half and a third, Dallas went Dak heavy, meaning pass and Dak floundered around with three and outs allowing the defense to get worn out.

I would also think a guy who demanded to be paid as the best at his position, and who many fans say is the best, would have gained more than 47 yards in any game, let alone a playoff game, especially considering he had a top 10 O line blocking for him that year.
Maybe. I like to look at the totality of everything involved and still acknowledge I don't know the whole story.

Or we can just simplify things. That's always easier.

List seems fine. I’d probably put mccaffrey at number 1 after his performance last year, but 1 and 2 are fairly interchangeable.

LOL...…...I never said Dak sucks.

I never even mentioned Garrett. Heck, I never even said Zeke sucks.

Maybe if you keep changing the subject, you might get something right.
You are getting lost in the discussion not me. I never said you said Dak sucks. What I'm saying is that anytime Dak has a bad game we justify it. We blame it on crappy coaching from Garrett. We all talk about how bad Garrett is when its time to defend Dak. But you aren't doing the same with Zeke. Are you not capable of having a conversation with more than one subject at hand?

I have "bad arguments" because I don't agree with you. I also don't have to agree with people so they can be my friend because I don't care about none of you dudes on here lol. Most of y'all are either children or boomer's anyway.

That article doesn’t say what you claim it said and that was 2018.

According to ESPN’s Stats & Information Group, the Cowboys were seventh in win probability added in 2018 on rushing attempts in the fourth quarter while they were ahead, excluding quarterback kneel-downs. Elliott carried the ball on the majority of those plays and had positive win probability added per play, which is good. But he was still just second on the team in average WPA behind quarterback Dak Prescott — and it wasn’t particularly close. Dak’s win probability added per play on 10 attempts was almost five times that of Zeke’s average WPA on 45 carries.

When we zoom out and compared Zeke with all running backs across the league, the situation gets bleak. Elliott was 22nd among qualifying backs when running to close out a game, behind the likes of Royce Freeman, Isaiah Crowell and the 35-year-old remnants of Frank Gore.

First of all, the guy says that Zeke has a win probability, but the he complains it’s not as high as a guy who carried it ten times instead of over 40 plus.
The comparisons are absurd because of volume. there were only three rushers that broke 40, 1 broke 30, and the rest in the 20s below. What this points out is actually how much the Cowboys are dependent on Zeke to carry the ball and close out games. Unlike the Rams and Gurley, who were the second ranked scoring offense and blew teams out by the fourth, Dallas was 22nd in scoring.

As far as short yardage in the red zone, that was 2018 and an anomaly and like I said, that was including Pre-Cooper, Dak was horrible. And if you actually compare him in 2018, he’s right up there with Henry and amd McCaffery isn’t even in there. And if you look at Zeke after contract, 2019 he’s top 3, with Henry and McCaffery.

I disagree. You are gauging how special is because he doesn't have break away runs. Find me a better pass blocker than him in the league....and I'm sure some will say that doesn't matter but its a great luxury to have.

Break away runs don't count? Don't matter?

More explosion means more yards generally, even when you don't break away.

You wanna give the biggest RB contract in the league to the best pass blocker? Not me. Sure, it's nice to have, but not the primary attribute I'm looking for in my tailback.

Morris averaged 3.51 against stacked boxes on 2017 and Zeke averaged 4. Morris scores 1 TD. Dallas didn’t beat a single winning team and Dak couldn’t break 10 points against them when Zeke was suspended.

IN 2017, losing Tyron was a bigger deal than losing Zeke.

0-2 w/o Z w/o T
3-1 w/o Z with T

0-1 w Z w/o T Seattle, first game back for Zeke, for a chance at the playoffs

Hard to argue Zeke was making a big positive difference in 2017 after controlling for whether Tyron was playing. And that's *Morris*, a washed up back.

Tyron was the guy who mattered, not Zeke.

That’s not what happened. What I stated was Dak was mediocre in the red zone, which he was, and Dallas was 16th in the red zone and 22nd on the road in the red zone.

And I said if your going to make a comparison, than Tannehil, with Henry and Dak with Zeke. And he wasn’t anywhere near Wilson, who threw 60% for 15 TDs from 10 yards out, while Dak was a whopping 47% for 7 TDs and that’s with a RG.

And I also said Mahomes didn’t play a full season and they still scored more in the red zone, I.e they were 11, and to end the season in the last three games, they were 80%. Last year KC was over 70%, while the last two years Dallas has been at 50%. And this year, you can’t blame Zeke, who was right up there with Henry and McCaffery.

You're doing it again. Russell Wilson completion rate was 49% from inside the 20 and Dak's was 52%.....I get what you're trying to do but you've shown when it comes to Dak you have no boundaries and will manipulate the numbers to fit your agenda.

CJ Anderson was the jackhammer and zeke was the concrete in the playoff game vs the Rams but CJ cost a fraction of what zeke costs and was picked up as a FA by the Rams half way through the season. Rams fans were freaking out that they wouldn‘t succeed without Gurley, just as a lot of Cowboys fans would think the same without zeke, and they didn’t skip a beat just as the Cowboys wouldn’t skip a beat.
So you are blaming Zeke for Anderson running all over our defense and giving Anderson credit for running all over us even though he was cut the following season and he's out the league?

Ohhhhhhhhhh but that’s not the excuse we heard during zeke’s first, second, and part of third year. It was “he has no good weapons around him so defenses focus on stopping him, he could get a lot more yards if they respected Dak or our receivers”.

So which is it? I’m guessing whatever makes zeke look better at that specific time.
What do you mean? In his 3rd year Zeke started off slow like he always does and got on towards the end.....what excuse was even needed?

No, he was terrible because he was terrible and didn't salvage a thing.

There weren't 5 startes in the league that would have averaged 4.1 yards per carry or less behind that OL. He was running in mud. If he was anything but terrible the rest of the league was elite.

No, the reason he was bad is because he was bad. Don't put that on projections or whatever else, he sucked.
Alright I guess. If you want to have amnesia about how that 2017 season went where he had a suspension over his head all year then so be it. But like I said its funny how you guys pick and chose how you guys will defend Dak by bringing up how crappy of a coach Garrett was....Zeke's flaws are always just on him.

I never said they didn't count. I'm saying there's more than one attribute to being good back in this league.

Zeke's contract is irrelevent to me. I didn't give him the money and I wouldn't have given him the money. But I also understand when you draft someone with the 4th overall pick its best to bring them back if they are productive and without a doubt Zeke is productive.

I'm in-between, for whatever that's worth.
I got love for everyone but I understand that those who probably don't like me or my posts are of a certain age demographic lol. I seem to be in alright with he "in-betweeners" lol.

Watch Jason bring them to the playoff the first season. Doesn’t have Jerry to worry about . I don’t think so but wouldn’t that be something

I wouldn't be surprised.

Hard to judge the Giants. Seems like their oline was playing better at the end of the season, and their QB was coming on, but they were in the "let's improve our draft position" sweepstakes in their last month with everyone they played.

They had a lot of draft ammo, and are generally considered to have spent it well.

Garrett hit the Giants at a low point, so even if they don't make the playoffs, there should be big improvement.

I'd personally flip Saquon and Henry.....but who in the hell had Zeke at 11th?

@aria I know it was you! You didn't tell me you were a coach player or exec....

The ages are crazy...Zeke has been in the league 4 years and he's just as young as them.

Yeah 11 is crazy must be a cowboy hater or currently has a lawsuit against Zeke.
