A surprise cut could be Bell or Schultz. Not saying either is too good to be a cut consideration, but rather that they don't really have competition for the back up TE spots. I could see the Cowboys trying to find a backup TE that can fill in as both a blocker and receiver (maybe after roster cuts) because right now there isn't a receiving TE to back up Jarwin in that role.

I am not sure everyone understands what "Surprise cut" means. it's not one that people think will happen or want to happen. It is a move that would make people go "wow, what is up with that". I said Jordan Lewis just for that reason. I don't think he will be cut but if he was, i would be like "wow, that is shock".

I could see it but it would still be a surprise. I know posters love this guy but he hasn't been able to get on the field all that much. So if they decide to keep a younger DB that is more in the mold they are looking for, I could see him being cut and or traded.
Well, it would have to be someone that might have at least an outside possibility of being cut. I'm sure the OP didn't intend for people to suggest guys like LVE, Zeke, Dak, Zach Martin etc would be surprise cuts.

I'd say to look at Crawford this way....

If he went down week one does it really make a difference in the standings in the end?

Probably not, and we aren't talking about a few hundred grand to push into next year's cap mess....its 8 million.

Gonna wish we had that around here come Feb.

Good points all.

Don’t know if it qualifies as a surprise but Donovan Wilson would be my surprise cut. I think they’ll value Goodwins ST play and moving Robinson to safety isn’t a good sign for Wilson IMO.

Trysten Hill's stock is way up right now. I doubt even without the McCoy injury he would have anything to worry about.

He was reportedly giving Zack Martin problems in the scrimmage.

He's one of the guys im excited to watch week 1.
Might redeem what seemed like a horrible decision to pass on the S's last year.

1) The Safety Dance
1)How long Has this been Going on.

Crawford
Clinton-Dix
Someone in else the secondary- maybe Jourdan Lewis
Punter Chris Jones (and we pick up someone better who was cut)

DiNucci (maybe placed on practice squad)

Crawford is an interesting one on this list. It would mean he hasn't recovered fully from hip surgery and there seemed to be some concern on him from prior reports.

RANDY Gregory and Sean Lee. I think we go with the youth movement at LB.

Bernard could very well push one of them off but wouldn't be shocking.
March and even Lee could be cut. I think Thomas is safe. He has had a good camp and is a core special teamer. March..Lee and the DE Gregory are my 3 cuts.

It would be IMO and I'd be disappointed.

We needed him to step up and be something.

All signs pointed to potential but we could blame the last staff.

DONT want this one to happen.

Bernard is definitely making the team but I think we go thin there. Five, maybe even four.

How often are we even going w as many as three on the field at once?

I mean....not counting that 5th edge guy as from this group.

Could go w Jaylon, LVE, Lee, Thomas, Bernard.

That's it.

Definitely wouldn't be a shocker, but if we expose DiNooch and lose him I'll be upset.

They need a developmental type and Thorson ain't it.
