I was initially happy they brought him back and i gave him the benefit of the doubt for the style of offense he was running last season but this looks EXACTLY like the crap we did last year.where are all the screens? We have Cedee and 2 great RBs who can break a lot of tackles.where are the designed rollouts? I have completely lost faith in him.

I want you to watch something......seriously.

Then afterward...comment on how bad Kellen is. In my 40+ years of watching pro football....that might be the most dominate performance I've seen out of a interior D-lineman. We just couldn't block Aaron Donald. And it just wasn't Conner Williams getting his butt kicked. Everybody was getting theirs handed to them. As you can see....by the end of the night...we had 4 guys trying to block Donald.....and he was still getting pressure. @ least Kellen was willing to adjust.....But honestly...what more do you expect him to do? Kellen isn't the problem....rookie undrafted right tackle starting....lose your starting TE....new coach. Hell...if it wasn't for a poor coaching decision (4th and 3)....we would have only needed a FG to win...on the road. I'll take that....And Kellen...anytime.

I’m from Boise ID and love Kellen but you may be correct! There is a total lack of imagination in the offense and with all the weapons they have, 35 points per game should come very easy!

It took one week for Dak to throw a TD pass in training camp in his third year. You think this dude would succeed with a whole new change in offensive philosophy?

Dak can’t drop back and pass, particularly the 5-7 drop. This dude completely limits the OC.

after 1 week? Come on, Man. This was not the normal off season. They put together a game plan based on what they thought they could do the best with the limited amount of live action they had. If the O doesn't get better and more diverse over the next month or so, then I will be with you. But got to give them a little slack.
I gave you a like BUT... McCarthy also didn't change the offensive language when he got here and left KM calling plays and there really wasn't much of a difference. So then is it McCarthy or Moore to blame???

should've brought in his own.
im not a fan overall of remnants.
i understand the idea of holding him over...but im just not seeing genius level stuff from his offenses.
hope he proves me wrong.
wouldnt be surprised if Big Mc is callin the plays before the bye week.

MM is still trying to figure out this offense. On paper we look outstanding. Take last week for example, dak threw for 250 yards, 1 td, took 1 sack no int's, no fumbles. On paper it isn't horrible. Lady year Dak had a career high in passing yards and passing TD's. MM is now learning that Dak is great at putting up solid numbers that do not correlate to wins. What he needs to do now is guide Moore in his play calling selection. I will not be surprised to see MM role increase but his offense in green at sucked too, rogers saved his butt for many years.

so by this logic, if Dak throws for 5 Td's, Zeke runs for 3, and we put up 50 points do we sign Kellen to an extension?

its one game man, lets slow down a bit.

Not a game plan. Garrett's offense.

Gotta admit I was expecting the offense to look a bit different, but it didn't. It looked too Garrett-like. When McCarthy first took the job, I recall that he expected and planned on calling his own plays. Then everything changed. I wish McCarthy had been allowed full freedom with this offense like he originally thought and not strapped to someone else's OC.

But that was not McCarthy's original plan. MM was planning to call his own plays, till all of a sudden everything changed. I suspect Jerry had a hand in that change.

He better open this Offense up. Run the misdirection we did the first 3 games last year. Use some designed rollouts. Elliot is awesome on screens. What is wrong with this team. They literally looked like the same Offense without JG standing there clapping. I was shocked. In the second half I was expecting us to come out totally switched up..

On the bright side they're *almost* forced into playing that offense. Pollard is about a zillion times better than any other possible 5th Man, and he gives you the backfield misdirection.

Are they gonna put Schultz on the field instead of Pollard? Really?

People now act all surprised but obviously missed when McCarthy said early on that they would be using most of the old playbook. This just proves that fans get something in their heads and if things aren't how they pictured it then it is all wrong. Some fans thought that because there's a new coach that everything will be different, that he would install this wide open offense and all those fan's favorite type plays will be run all the time and when they're not then everything is all wrong.

Please provide me with a direct quote from McCarthy where he said that he was going to call all of the plays. I seemed to have missed that one. I do recall him saying shortly after accepting the job that they were keeping Moore as OC and that Moore would continue to call the plays.

its not a overeaction,i expected a major change in how the offense will look this season but to my horror its is just a Garrett offense.

You obviously missed where early on McCarthy said that they would use most of the old playbook. The verbiage would change but the plays would still be used.

We have 17 games with Kellen Moore calling plays so yea I think he isn't a very good OC.
But everyone said that he was great and Garrett interferes with him last year? So did Garrett get too much blame for the offense struggles?

Judging off the creative scheme I watched Monday night, perhaps they should have left Garrett calling plays the whole time and hired a designated in game analytics/clock management guy instead of taking away his responsibility so he could manage that.

He calls what he thinks Dak can do. Just like Linehan did.

When will people realize this?

If Mahomes was our QB, the playcalling would look very different.

Good thoughts. Kellen knows Dak for exactly what he is and it's likely a good thing that he does. He knows Dak's abilities and his limitations as well as anyone. I'll simply remain hopeful that Kellen continues to hone his skills as efficiently as possible as long as he's our OC. He's gaining some valuable experience right now. Let's all be patient and wish him the best. Have yourselves a great day, folks! :)
