It’s a good thing that the Cowboys didn’t restructure Smith’s contract and push more money out into the future.

Oh wait.....
Its one garbage decision one after the next.

These two will NEVER admit it. NEVER.

It's actually our fault for continuing to return.

I am seriously hoping Covid kills this poo poo show this year.
I'm not hoping for that but I still think there is a significant chance that it falls apart & becomes nothing more than a partial season to generate some revenue.

If he can't return this season, he shouldn't return ever.

Just hang it up and enjoy the rest of your life, Tyron. Battling injury after injury doesn't do anyone any good at all.

I still put myself to sleep at night with that one play years ago with Romo against the Giants, I believe. Where he dropped back in the red zone and the OL with Martin, Frederick and Smith just stonewalled the pass rush and Romo was just standing there for like 10 seconds sipping iced tea. It was glorious.

the good ol days

Does this shock anyone? Seriously, he is as dependable as Sean Lee.

meh, he's been better than 90% of OT when he plays. I'll actually take him missing an average of 3 games a year over subpar play. Just get a good swing.

His contract isn't bad if he calls it quits. Not ideal, especially after restructure, but it won't be Romo level dead cap.

If he retires and files paperwork next year before June 1st, it's a 8.8mil dead cap, but savings of 5.1mil
If he retires after June 1st, dead cap of 3.5, savings of 10.5mil, with a dead cap of 5.2 in 2022.

Dallas took one of the best contracts ever signed and turned it into a $9M dead money charge in what would be the 8th year of the contract. Seriously, you actually have to try to screw up a contract that much.

Its crazy how we went from position of strength and locking all the linemen up to long contracts and bam. Fredrick gets a very weird injury and retires. Bam Smith having neck and back issues. Collins sign's a long term contract and then gets injured and doesn't even play a down this season out for the season most likely.

Only man left is Martin.
What was once a dominate O-line is a position of weakness now.

Agree with all this, but on Smith he has been dealing with injuries for the past 4-5 years now.
