It's laughable when people call Prescott's numbers as garbage time stats. Somehow most non-hating Prescott fans see those stats as times when Prescott is try his bets to bring back the Cowboys to win. Now if the Cowboys were winning games and ahaead by double digit leads and Prescott was THEN throwing for big yardage THAT would be garbage time stats.
Next Dalton's win came from Gallup making not one but two greatly athletic circus catches which is on par with that on-side kickoff. If you're referring to Dalton as a QB as good or better than Prescott, that is just Prescott hatred coming out. Proof, he signed to be a BACKUP QB and his first statements after signing with the Cowboys was how happy he is to come and be Prescott's BACKUP QB. Now if Dalton and/or his agent thought he was as good or better than Prescott he wouldn't have signed a contract that pays him less than 1/10 of what Prescott makes this season. What Dalton and/or his agent knows just like the Cowboys and most other people is that at this point in his career he IS a BACKUP QB.
Now I will admit that I'd rather the Cowboys had a backup QB with starting experience over a young QB with little or no NFL experience. The Cowboys have a history of doing that with Rodney Peete, Bernie Kosar, Wade Wilson, Jon Kitna and Brad Johnson. What all those QB have something in common with Dalton and that is none of them were brought to Dallas as a possible replacement for their starter, but as a BACKUP QB.
