With our D I still think it isn't going to matter. Not until it improves. Our defense is historically bad. Worse than any defense that has ever taken the field. Worse than our 2013 D where Romo threw for over 500 yards and still lost. Worse than the 1981 Colts that went 2-14. Worse than the 1989 Cowboys by far! Our D is like a cat without its claws. Our D is like a vampire without its fangs in the sunlight. Our D is like Rosie O'Donnell on a diet. All fails. As far as I know Andy Dalton doesn't wear a cape. He can only do so much. He's not scoring on every drive.

What Dalton and/or his agent knows just like the Cowboys and most other people is that at this point in his career he IS a BACKUP QB.

Now I will admit that I'd rather the Cowboys had a backup QB with starting experience over a young QB with little or no NFL experience. The Cowboys have a history of doing that with Rodney Peete, Bernie Kosar, Wade Wilson, Jon Kitna and Brad Johnson. What all those QB have something in common with Dalton and that is none of them were brought to Dallas as a possible replacement for their starter, but as a BACKUP QB.

The salary comparison is a joke. Dak is not ten times better than Dalton, even at this stage of Dalton’s career. When Dalton was in his prime, his numbers were almost identical to Dak’s numbers and the numbers have been posted here several times. If you compare the salaries, Dalton is a much better economical investment, even at this stage of his career. People seem to forget that all of Dak’s stats had led to one win this season which shows that his stats are not translating into wins. If you can’t recognize that Dak’s stats consist of garbage time stats, then maybe you can recognize that his stats has not produced wins, this season or last season.

It will be hard for Dalton to only win one game in the next four or five weeks, which is exactly what Dak and his stats have produced. Dak is tied with Dalton for the most game winning drives this season and Dalton has only played a few snaps.

The Dak critics are already looking for reasons for why they'll cut Dalton way more slack than they were ever willing to cut Dak. Starting with giving Dalton credit for coming in and beating a 0-5 Giants team when many would have stated, "It's just the Giants" if Dak won under the same circumstances.
