On top of that, lets not draft a position of need (DT) and get another WR. I love Lamb, but you have to spread things around.

that ultimately ends up being the problem. Lamb would otherwise be a great pick but years and years of poor decisions made it stupid.

Weak DL draft too. Williams hasnt lit the world on fire, but he is very talented. He is better than any DT in this draft, Id be willing to gamble a 2nd. He has been more productive this year

Yup....I don't see how you pass considering what is available in the draft in 2021. A stout DT....instead of Poe.....sign me up.

The front office is about the most uninspiring staff in the NFL. Why wait for the deadline when we have holes everywhere?

:hammer:......especially in this covid-19 era. You see other teams stockpiling people....churning the bottom of the roster....we do nothing. Makes you wonder what the hell does staff do in the day time besides take naps?

I’d respect them more if they did nothing and just got rid of guys this summer. I don’t get the point in waiting. Even on the Amari deal it felt like they waited to trade for him they had been talking for weeks.
I'm in the same camp. Why bother this year unless you're selling pieces you have a replacement for.

No one player can help this team. What I saw Monday go beyond being one player away.

thats a big EXCEPT....the way this team is playing there is zero reason to believe they are going to win any more than 4-6 games and the way philly has played they look to be a 7-8 win team....

at this point, i wouldnt gamble on it, not with a backup qb and a decimated OL
But with the way this ENTIRE division is playing, 6 games just might win it, rather this season is doomed or not he would be a good future investment I believe. Speaking about a trade for Q.Williams

Just my opinion. I look at other franchises that have been aggressive bringing in players even though they're playing well. Our defensive roster specifically is decimated. A smart GM would show a little more urgency. Baltimore is 5-1 and yet are still doing all they can.
It's the same front office a GM who was a aggressive for Coop and it worked at the time amd they were still ridiculed about it, so if they were aggressive it wouldnt matter honestly. The QB 4 contract is also a factor sadly

Were going to be a roughly 500 team. It's what dallas does, worst I can see is 5-11 and we could somehow ask out 9-7 and will likely fall somewhere in between. What I'm trying to say we won't be a top 5 pick to many absolutely horrible teams in the league.

I think this team needs a complete heart transplant. I'd be all for trading a guy with perceived value like Zeke for draft assets and jettisoning guys like Jaylon, Crawford, Cooper, et cetera when it makes the most financial sense.

we need 9 players on D...not 1. No trade we make now will achieve much. We should trade a player for a couple draft picks..its all about 2021 IMO. If we can get a couple mid rounders for DFLAW, I would do it.As long as we don't have to eat that salary.

I don’t know about that. The way this offense looked Monday 5 wins is a stretch. Worst D in history and no Oline left. This will get ugly. Cowboys are right there with the Jets! Running neck and neck for worst team in football. Could be a photo finish.

4 or 5 wins this year tops. Our defense is so bad that SMU down the street in Dallas could beat us. Our oline is a mess. Our coaching is abysmal.

i hear ya and i would like to stay optimistic but the eagles look to be the best team based on who and how they have played, I would hate to give up top 100 picks at this point knowing a full rebuild looks like the most likely scenario

The one player I’d consider is Jets DT Quinnen Williams. We clearly have the need at the position and trading for him gives us a good player relatively cheap. For the rest of this year, two more, and then a 5th year option.

If I could do it for a 3rd round pick I surely would. Maybe I’d even give up a 2nd.

Id love to do something like that. Gase is all about shipping out talent too. Lol

Same here. And we would have the benefit of getting him acclimated to the defense for the remainder of this season and the offseason (whatever that is) compared to a rookie coming in later. The guy was the 3rd overall pick I believe, and there's no way you can find comparable physical talent next year in the 2nd or 3rd rounds.

Getting him acclimated to THIS defense?

Not sure that's a good thing.

We as fans say we need 9.

In reality, Lawrence, Hill, LVE, Smith, Diggs are all returning. We’re lucky to get 3-4 new starters

Couldn't agree more. After 2022 for Elliott and after 2021 for the rest on that list.

Before long I'll be breaking it down into minutes.

I get all happy thinking about rebuilding this team, then I realize who exactly is going to do it and I come back to earth.

Edit....sorry Crawford gone this year if Jerry doesn't extend him. Dont go ruling that out

Maybe by some, the only thing I criticized them with regard to Cooper was waiting. Sure it worked at the time, but it could have worked earlier/sooner. Why wait?
And here we are with a boatload of needs and we're just idling.

Fun fact: Dallas has the two absolute worst safeties in the NFL. Seems like a good place to focus. Nope, this staff feels comfy with players that are both not great at one position, but in their eyes can be plugged in, in other areas. That is why we're 2-4.

i propose we trade the entire team to Kansas City adding the #1 draft picks for the next three years. Bring the Chiefs back to Dallas where they belong. and send Jerry and the Dallas Football Team to KC.....bring Mahomey back to Texas.. ...bottoms up y'all....

Cant get 9 in an offseason anyway.

Would be difficult in two.

The offense is poised to be pretty good for next few years. Defense only has to be semi decent. Couldn't pull that one off this year.
