+1.....100% confident they DO NOT wanna another wasted year, especially with the kind of money they're paying Dak. I'm thinking a seasoned DC with a proven track record of success. As of now, Marvin Lewis or Zim ( if he's fired ) are my top choices with Marvin having a slight edge coz he's spent the last few years at the college ranks. That can be invaluable during the draft time, especially mid to lower rounds. Another thing about Marvin is he has a history of handling players with shady backgrounds ( Pacman, a LBer, can't think of his name).

After some research, I really like the idea of Marvin Lewis running our defense. He checks all the boxes:

-Successful track record
-Has a wealth of experience (including a Super Bowl as a DC) running the 4-3, 3-4 and a hybrid scheme.
-Will be able to recruit quality assistants
-Has knowledge of the college game

My only question is, will he take a DC job or is he waiting for another NFL HC Position?

Sadly I agree
I think in today’s game you need young innovative guys who can relate to players
Jerry values old guys for some reason and honestly I didn’t want MM or Nolan because to me neither have shown they can change games with their schemes, game planning or innovation
Agree 100%.

Jim Leonhard has done a fantastic job as the Wisconsin DC and given his playing days in the NFL as a former safety I think he would step in to Dallas and make an immediate positive impact.

Doesn't matter until they address the talent issue. None of those 3 ever had good D's with mediocre talent.

Man how true this is, If we had some better DT play + another Rusher and some Secondary play we might have something.

  • Wade Phillips
  • Marvin Lewis
  • Lovie Smith
Phillips is a great DC, but not so much of a head coach. He would do well here is he was coaching under a hard-nosed disciplinarian type of coach which MM is not.
