Watson could have taken less, teams look at their cap beyond 1 year and Houston knew there was no way to pay both and choose Watson and traded Hopkins and I agree I think they did not get enough. Fact is players are paid to play and Watson was paid a kings ransom he should not then dictate to any team of the players they should keep or bring in via FA since it is his contract that creates the issue.
Yeah, Watson, Watt and a few others.

Oh ok great to know your an old timer. I am obviously not as old. I would think you could see the big picture.. this current team has no resemblance to the Landry Years or Johnson years.
Rudderless ship for over 25 years. But I guess let’s overpay a good QB. That solves all the problems.
Like it did for the Rams, Eagles, Niners, Vikings... Everyone of those teams have changed their Qb or will change their Qb..
Paying Dak 40+ is literally idiotic. This decision will cascade into more terrible decisions.

then again you have Jimmy Johnson, Troy Aikman, Emmitt Smith and Michael Irvin all saying Jerry need to get Dak signed. Maybe they see more in Dak than fans do?

Nah, not really. You give up if you want. I'm not.

I'm not saying that. Players clearly want to get paid I don't hold that against them but then do not come back batching about why this teammates was traded or cut loose? It is because team has X amount to work with. Watson Job is QB and was given a damn good check to do that job, his job is not GM and should shut his mouth or give up some money to be able to get more.

Broaddus said just now that his sources around the league said they could get two first for him. Some teams would do more like a 2nd as the team would have to sign him long term. So we have options folks. I’m for signing him, but not if that snake France keeps killing this thing.

That star on the helmet doesn't automatically make players better then they are. I think a lot of Cowboy fans make that mistake when talking about this team.

Yep, and you’re making it right now by thinking Dak is as good as Aikman was. Go back and watch him play, then watch what his team mates said about him in his “Path to the Hall” program and educate yourself

See, and this is what the Dakster will not accept. Yes, we need other parts of the team so Dak can thrive, but if he wants all the freaking pie, then no excuses for his poor play...but, he will be rich, and the Cowboys will suffer.
Yeah, I don't accept he's had the worst defense in the NFL the last 2 years. I do accept in 2016 when he had the 5th best defense in pts allowed that the team won 13 games.

Based on that logic there will be more pressure on Dak to win with fewer or at least younger parts. Cooper I think it more likely to have his deal restructured, Lamb contract not an issue at this time because he is on a rookie deal, Gallup I think it will be tough to keep him. All I'm saying is player whine about money then get it and want to be GM with no clue of the cap the team now much contend with. Watson did not have to take the deal he did but he did and with it came limitation the team had to contend with. Rodgers can't get all the parts in GB such as defense, Russell Wilson is making noise as well but they were not making a sound when it came to their own pay. Really they can't be that stupid to think they can get their and have all pro's through out the team, does not work that way.

Just as Dak wants his money and Dallas will not be able to fix the defense or keep players like Gallup.

That's what the Cowboys need. Get them "Hot Boyz" the hell out of here! All talk and no game.

Worst the last 2 years??? What metric did you use for 2017, 2018, and 2019 as the defense was not that bad in any year except 2020.

So then Dak should take less so the team can fix the defense.....I mean if winning is Dak's main motivation.

I think it's already done, just smoothing out the edges. I do believe Prescott when he said he was ready to sign. I think he had held his ground about all he wanted to and I also beleive this is the team he wants to QB above any other. He always dreamed of being the DC QB but I think it outperformed his dream. I also think that's one of the reasons Booger wants him to stay. He wants a QB that loves his team as much as he does.
Pretty sure they had a good structure of the deal done at the end last year. Was gonna be better to let him play under the tag. Money was good for both side. If JJ wanted to get a great deal then he should have signed Dak years back.

Dak liked that 50 million signing bonus offer in the deal. I believe the yearly was close on both sides. Was just the length. Now that Dak had a major injury he may want the security of a slightly longer deal. And now that Dak has had a major injury JJ may be ok with a shorter deal. Lol.
