Because those issues were practically a lifetime ago for someone his age. Look, I get that we live in an extremely sensitive age concerning DV (and should be concerned about it overall), but just because someone had some serious problems four years ago doesn't mean that he can't turn his life around, especially with some maturity.
My issue isn't his issues...my issue is the Cowboys thinking they have to stoop so low to take this guy. He probably will work out. I'm all for giving 2nd chances...and in his case multiple chances...but why does it have to be the Cowboys? Are they that starved for talent?

Say it's not so.

That was the ex's favorite name for me at the end. Don't overuse that phrase. It's handy for all sorts of situations.
*:lmao:copy:lmao:

( I recall ,,er,, being labelled "teenage party boy" ,,ah,,, and that's about the only one the mod's will allow to let stand)

Anything coming out of Dallas, is a mistake to many. If they would have taken all of the top ten players in the draft, there would have been complaints.

This article is so bad. Not saying the Cowboys has a great draft but those were horrible reasons. The article is bashing the trade even though Smith was going to an NFC team regardless, and says the Cowboys didn't get a corner to cover him when Kelvin Joseph held him to no catches and got a pick. They had to move Smith away from him. The article says the Cowboys didn't grab corner early enough, but the corner they wanted the Cowboys to get (Asante Samuel Jr) was available anyway, so saying they waited too long is nonsensical.

I don't know who Steven Kubitza is, but he's underthinking it.

I'm not sure of the first mistake. Seems like the writer is grasping at straws.
Betchya if I want to I can find a writer that disagrees with him. I just don't want to because I have no idea who this writer is.

I think we are now at the 1 to 1 ratio. There's a sportswriter for each fan. And I want mine to actually work at it, none of this hobby seeking while playing fantasy sports.

The father of fantasy football, rotisserie baseball, was created by a bunch of writers at a bar/restaurant in 1980. it was the closest they could come to playing.

Had to start work at 2:30 and drive 430 miles.
Nice 13 hour day.
*Bravo & well done*

For I've long since deemed it as one of those "better you than me" types of no-brainer analysis in it's consideration:thumbup:

( Tho,I thought I was maybe, kinda' starting to miss it{ the road?} But I subdued it& quickly wrote it off as the possible onset of early delusion/ dementia moving in:lmao:

Am I the only one who doesn't see the second two things?
I am not concerned about Kelvin Joseph:
1. He went to Scotlandville Magnet High School - Magnet high schools in LA are like schools dedicated to AP potential students in TX. His school focus was engineering. So as Jimmy Johnson said about Charles Haley " if he is smart, I can reason with him".
2. Safety with CB skills - Smart played S at Scotlandville and was a beast with 83 and 119 tackles jr. and Sr. years. He was a basketball standout with LSU and potential NBA draft pick Javonte Smart (Indiana's Keith Smart relative). So he is great in man or zone coverage, and can jump with anyone. If he can not hold up at CB, move him to S and watch a down hill hitter and ball hawk. To me he is a better FS than CB. But his athletic skills make you want him to stay at CB. So it is hard to fail at DB when you can play 2 positions.
3. Perseverance through tragedy - His brother died of drowning when he was 7 years old. He understands to value of life and not to waste it.

13 players were chosen in the draft from LA. LA per population puts out the most pro football players and pro athletes in the US. Competition is fierce. He was a high school standout and NFL draft 2nd rounder. So the spotlight has been on him for a while. You just have to keep him focused and engaged. The way to do this is put him on special teams, punt and KR where he had 13 non offensive TDs in high school (PR, KR, and Pick 6). This way, he has no down time. It worked at Scotlandville.

Also why are people worried about Bossman Fat having a hip hop career and nobody complained about Cole "measley" Beasley hip hop rapping career outside of football. Unlike Measley Beasly, Bossman Fat will not quit during training camp and have to be begged to return to football camp.

My question is there is word out of NY that the Giants were an absolute mess when the Eagles jumped them. If that's the case why didn't the Cowboys call NY and tell them what's about to happen? Maybe the Giants panic and send us there 2nd or some better offer. Just my 2 cents about the draft.
