I could see the Cowboys pulling one out, but I think your assessment is more likely. I don't think our defense with new scheme, new DC and new rookies will be ready to whip the Bucs in week 1. But a Cowboy fan can always hope!
We have a lot of young talent coming in, it's just a question of whether these rookies can be ready for a good team this soon. I suspect the odds are against it.

Make their defense run sideline to sideline and try to wear them down, then take the top off with our excellent WR group. 3 yards up the middle will not work.

and they won't get the 3 yards. Zeke will get stuffed because the whole world and the bucs will be expecting it. THAT is the Cowboys "genius" playbook MO. They won't start playing until their down 24 points in the 2nd half - too little too late.

FYI... if you can do it, 3 yards up the middle every play will guarantee you score a TD on every possession. Just saying.
