I hope Kellan Moore watched NE run outside vs Buffalo!

So then what, in your estimation, is broken? Because I think you’d still agree that the run game isn’t nearly as productive as it had been earlier in the season. It’s not only because Zeke is hurting.

I definitely agree we aren’t sustaining the production in our run game. But I think we should acknowledge also that the numbers were so good, they probably weren’t sustainable through the course of the season. At the same time, it may also be a product of catching on to the trends of Moore’s play calling and we are no longer in the third and manageable situations, where we aren’t dictating to the defense what we want to do

Does that mean we can’t run well still? No.. I don’t think we need to get to those numbers, but I do agree with @CATCH17 that we aren’t systematically trying to run in these other games. I mean this seems to a case of 2019 all over again. The only reason we got out of the hump is because Moore ran the ball against the Rams and Commanders. But we ignored completely the run against the Eagles and Dak completely sucked.

I don’t think the Saints game was an anomaly though, because know they are a good running defense, probably the best in the league. They stopped the run, while playing lots of zone. So they didn’t really have to go into man coverage.

They put a emphasis on trying to win with Dak’s arm once he got back. They gave him big boy assignments and wanted him to live up to the MVP hype.

We were a worse team for it.

Dak with a lead and a run game is a different player. He’s a system QB that plays well within the system. Do not ask him to carry your team because you’re flirting with a 50/50 brand of football at best.

It’s nearly impossible to beat Dallas when we score first and or run the ball.

After watching NE beat Buffalo, while only throwing 3 passes, this should demonstrate to any knowledgeable fan how important coaching is! Belicheat was masterful in this game.
He might have been for this game, but I remember Miami opening the season with the wildcat and Belicheat had no answer on that day to stop it. All coaches no matter their experience have games that challenge their skills. Moore will right the ship I have no doubt.

Pats had 11 first downs, 14 points and 241 total yards.

Hey, let's copy what they do!

Right, how in the world does this compute..Literally hoping the other offense is horrible.

Our offensive line isn't good enough to be able to rely on them like the Patriots did tonight. I don’t know what happened since September, but if the cowboys run it 43 times on Sunday, they’ll probably gain 86 total yards (unless Pollard breaks a big one). The line is borderline bad.

One way to fix it.

NE, ran inside and outside vs Buffalo, even when Buffalo, with 9-10 man fronts , knew NE was going to run.
Kellan, it’s not always about speed when running outside! You need well designed plays, and players executing their blocks. Watching NE’s runs outside: they often designed plays where their blockers had 2 on 1 blocks, or really good angles to make their blocks.

If our HC and Coordinators step, with the talent we have, and the talent we have coming back, we should make a serious run to the Super Bowl this year!
I was thinking the exact same thing!!!

No, we don't have the D or OL to run as much as they did, but several lessons could and should be learned just from watching. Just the directional blocking to clear out space, if nothing else.

Lol 2 yard average for sure lol lol, sometimes a better runner makes them look good bye 21
I watched the game. It was crazy. 1 pass the entire 1st half. How Buffalo couldn't find a way to stop the run was baffling.
They should have brought in a couple more D linemen. The had to many small bodies going against big bodies+NE’s blocking was amazing.

This game should make Moore think, “if NE can run with 10 guys in the box, we should be able to run with 8 guys in the box with our passing threats.”

I hope you are right about Moore.

Also, you underestimate Belicheat’s coaching talents.

The way we run the ball is definitely part of it but I think you may also be overrating our offensive line in comparison to New England's.
.....vastly overrating our OL in comparison. KMoore will be pass-happy against WFT......book it, and as a result......we'll be in a dogfight.

If there going to run off tackle, like I hope, Connor Williams needs to be back at Guard even though he’s a holding machine. He’s the best puller we have.

Kellen Moore would have to design plays to adjust and make it easier on the OLine to run block. Since they are struggling to run block and open up holes with traditional (run up the middle) running plays.

No, I don't because I have mad respect in how he goes about his business and that business is winning. But the master gets fooled and or schooled every once in a while. A young OC can get that treatment more often.

So Moore is smart and I have no doubt that he loves his passing game but I think he has to reconsider his running schemes and blocking assignments and usage of such. It makes no sense to run a gimpy Zeke around the edges and outside but perfect sense to deploy Pollard their. Hope he is digesting what older Dc he has faced is trying to teach him.
