Anyone watching this on Paramount? Watched first few episodes and so far this might be best show I've seen in a long time. I never really got into Yellowstone this is a lot better.
I'm liking it so far. I was a little skeptical when I heard Tim McGraw was in it but he's believable in his role. Sam Elliot is good as always in a western.

Yep, Me and the Wife just started Yellowstone a few weeks ago, and then when we saw a preview for 1883 we were already hooked before the 1st episode lol......

Watched the first 3 episodes and it is pretty good so far. Some of the character arcs are a bit played out but overall I am enjoying the show.

Well after that crap fest against the Cards, I need to find something to watch to distract myself. Anyone watch Don't Look Up on Netflix? Is it worth watching?

I’ve started it, and have found it to be a bit ‘too much’ so far in what they’re trying to say and trying to get me to believe. I appreciate the message, but the execution hasn’t been great 30 minutes in.

Thanks for the heads up. I will look for something else.

I’ve heard all the scuttlebutt about it being a dud. I watched it the other day and thought it was pretty good. Definitely speaks to what’s going on in the country right now. That said, half the country will probably get offended by it.

Episode one was not great but a solid foundation in what we will see from this point.

Fett's continuing evolution into an anti-hero that began in The Mandalorian was balanced very well. On one hand, he became a savior for the Tusken youngster and gained the respect from the tribe. On the OTHER hand, Fett did not blink blowing up one of the street attackers into smithereens trying to escape scaling a wall.

I think it is imperative of Lucasfilm/Disney to build upon the character differences between Fett and The Mandalorian. Mandy is a hero with a shadowy past. Boba's bounty hunter career is a complex mix of unsavory choices, revenge, and tainted reputation, which is undergoing a transformation into a "respected" warlord who will still kill to achieve his lofty goals.

His Sarlaac experience was unquestionably a life-changing moment for him. I think now Fett wants redemption by re-creating himself within the "virtuous" memory he has always held for his father, Jango. It should be really interesting how many layers this legendary bounty hunter will gain during the series' run. The ceiling is pretty high. Just depends how much imagination will be utilized building him up.
I watched episode one of The Book of Boba Fett after that awful Cardinals at Cowboys game and I agree that it wasn't particularly great. I don't know if it was just my mood after the loss, but the episode felt surprisingly slow. Maybe it was all the flashbacks? Or it could be because I waited to binge-watch Hawkeye. That series was an entertaining experience on it's own, but when it's first viewed altogether in one night it's especially thrilling. I do agree that it was still a solid episode and I'm looking forward seeing where the series goes, but maybe it would benefit from being binge-watched all in one night?
Interesting to see the inside of the Sarlacc depicted on screen. Boba Fett gave it a terminal case of heart burn...

Did Fett's exposure to the Sarlacc's digestive enzymes cause his health issues and reliance on the bacta tank?

Similar to Darth Vader's reliance on using a bacta tank because his severe lava burns he sustained on Mustafar...

I especially enjoyed the introduction of the offspring of Prince Goro and Gorn Captain a.k.a. the Sand Creature...

It definitely reminded me of Jabba the Hutt's death at the hands of Prince Leia in Star Wars: Return of the Jedi...

If anyone is curious, here's a diagram of a Sarlacc courtesy of the Star Wars: The Complete Visual Dictionary...

If I had to guess they already filmed season two or much of it when they filmed season one, so this was inevitable.

While I was not impressed with the show, I am always happy when networks commit to at least two seasons of a show for many reasons but mostly because I hate shows that end without some type of closure for all of the storylines introduced.

It bothers me even when shows I do not like or watch get prematurely canceled because I know that just means it could happen to shows I like as well.

That is why I rarely watch any new shows until two seasons have come out or at the very least a second season has been announced.

Most of the time I just wait though because it got really bad there for a while with networks canceling shows with cliffhangers or unfinished stories that were popular but simply had the wrong demographic or they had too many shows with overlapping demographics or they thought they could make more money from newer original and/or self-produced shows.

I believe the showrunner said they planned 8 season in total.

Tried the first episode of Yellowstone and it did not work for me. From everyone else that watches the show it would seem I gave up on it too early.

With that out of the way.

I am liking this 1883 thus far. An updated and grittier mix of wagon train and raw hide.

Sure you got the Mcgraw character as a hothead. However it seems Sam Elliot's character is a hothead too.

Then you got the girl who looks like a young Jennifer Lawrence narrating some which reminds me a bit of the Laura Ignles Wilder thing.

It sucks that the next episode will not be until next sunday but they did start out with two episodes.

My wife and tried watching Red Notice w/Gal Gadot, Ryan Reynolds, and the Rock. We didn’t make it through the first 20 minutes; it’s was honestly just lame. Cheese ball fighting scenes and script.

We ended up watching the new Bond movie No Time to Die and it was really entertaining. Had no expectations and was really shocked at the ending. Bond’s girl was a smoke show too (of course).
