The number I am hearing is $47.5 million for 4 years or about $12 million per. That seems like a lot for a # 3 receiver who is limping badly and rehabbing a bum knee. If he gets that deal he and his agent should be tickled. Would any other NFL team make the deal? Just Saying.

Honestly that sounds about what he is being valued at by the league. Pretty good deal if it gets done. He did not offer a hometown discount but did not seek the bigger free agent payday.

No way would I give him 12m per. Let him walk. Fine with bringing Wilson back on a good deal. This draft is loaded with WR, IMO.
At this point, I’d rather bring back Wilson, sign JuJu or Chark for $7-8 million and spend that extra money from the savings and cutting Jarwin and resign Schultz or Gregory

It hilarious how bad the Joneses are at this.

Made it clear to the league we'll release Cooper=released, no pick.

Made it clear we to Gallup and agent this because we want him instead=he has all the leverage, big contract, minimal cap savings.

Exactly. Dak never gets that huge payday without that trade for Coop. Coop is a legit 1st. He is usually drawing the top DB from the opposite team. Just don't like this move one bit.

I agree. If Coop is released we no longer have a #1 receiver.

I really like Gallup's game and if he can develop his route tree his high end potential is excellent. He's not Amari Cooper. I'm having flashbacks to the year we traded for Coop and remembering how God awful the pass game was without a true 1. Can Gallup or Lamb fill that void? Personally I'd rather not find out but it seems we're about to.

He will get 12-13, Wilson get the other 7 that equal to Coopers 20

Not exactly, you’re still on the hook for 6m$ of Cooper’s due to the signing bonus. His salary was only around 16m$ next year that you’ll save. And that’s only if Gallup goes for that number… it’s getting close to a 1-to-1 swap

I really like Gallup and hope we do keep him. Wilson too.

But long term? Off an ACL injury? It seems like we always extend the wrong guys, so I'm a little worried about getting locked in for over 2 yrs
Acl isn’t the same as it was even 10 years ago

All depends on the dollars
That's the fun thing about all of this.

We'll see what effect his departure has on the offense next season. We'll just see.

One of us will be right. I tend to side with what history has shown, but to each his own.

I don't like getting rid of Cooper, unless there's some decent draft capital and a clear plan to replace him. Gallup coming off an ACL isn't an ideal replacement and likely to get overpaid too.

Seem about to be expected. Get rid of a player we traded a 1st round pick and overpaid and sign a player rehabbing a knee injury hoping he can be your #2 receiver. Makes "Cowboys" sense to me. We will regret this in some form 3 years from now. If this actually happens.
