Conduct detrimental to the league is different. I'm 90% sure he keeps the guaranteed money he already got, but if he triggered that clause they don't owe him anything if they cut him.

Cut him because he's show by his behavior that he can't be trusted to be smart enough to follow some simple rules off the field. How many millions did he risk and for what? That shows a remarkable lack of commitment to the team and football. Let him play for someone else if they even want him.

So did Gregory as he said. You hold on to Joseph for the same reason you did Gregory: he's potentially really talented and he's cheap. If Gregory was some rotational 6th Round long shot, he'd have been gone from us long ago.

What court? He has not been charged with any crime.
It's a good chance when the 2 that got arrested go to court there will be other facts that come out. I don't feel since the 2 got arrested and KJ did the right thing by eventually telling the police that this story will die off. Since a Cowboys player was involved at some point there's money to be made on this story so the media will keep on it. This story isn't going away anytime soon unfortunately.

This aint law and order. Them dudes woulda snitched and KJ would be in jail today if he was more involved. Ill be surprised if anything else comes of this legally. He already went to the police with his lawyer and walked out while 2 of his homies got locked up.

Hear that friend.
My momma always posited the question: what if this is it?
Go do it. Go do it how you want and go as long as you can.

She died on the operating table having not accomplished her dreams.

I will.

Goodell can suspend someone for whatever reason he wants. The conduct detrimental standard was from Tagliabue and it defined what behaviors fell therein. Now he has full authority.

Why in the world would they say a word before getting a plea agreement? You are right this is not Law and Order; in the real world you talk to an attorney before saying anything of value to the police.

Cowboys already knew about the incident. Didn't do anything. It came out. Nothing. Charges without KJ. Nothing.

You guys sure are trying real hard to find ways to punish him. Just saying but being punitive generally is not a good look.

Not sure where you're coming up with these scenarios since I said nothing of the sort. I simply responded to this comment (and bolded that part for emphasis) and thought you were incorrect with your reasoning.

I also never said KJ was going to walk after answering questions. On the contrary, I stated KJ may have to plead guilty to a crime (lesser offense) before trail....if there's a trial.

I'd be willing to bet the police did not have the two defendants positively identified but knew who KJ was based on his bling necklace and his local celebrity status. KJ helped positively identify the two defendants which is why they were arrested shortly after KJ's interview. His lawyer's tact at this point is to make the best deal possible for KJ's cooperation, not make the claim that KJ didn't know/observe anyone getting shot.

I gree .. up until your last sentence.

If you think he runnin to the police talkin bout i was in a car that was in a drive by, willingly, you crazy. Our communities trust of the police is at an all time low and have seen ppl get locked up on nonsense. This view is really unrealistic and not really a viable argument. You are just moving the goalposts to crucify him for having awful friends.
keep in mind we have at least 2 different Americas. I would absolutely be talking if my "Bros," shot at someone from a moving car. I didnt grow up living the gangsta life with the gangsta rules. So yep, Id be snitching yo

I'm not trying to find a way to punish him. Again you're assuming the wrong intent. But that's okay. I guess you're incapable of reading comprehension. I've stated multiple times it's about the culture that should be encouraged by the team and player reliability. If the leak suspends him for 8 games or a year or whatever, suddenly he's a waste of a roster spot for however long. But go ahead and keep misunderstanding or willfully ignoring my intent.

I thought they should have let go of Gregory back then. However HE didn't keep his mouth shut about a murder (or just potential gunfire.) His actions only hurt himself.

So they should cut him because it would make you feel better?

No. How is it hard to understand? You yourself stated he's likely to get suspended for at least 8 games. That's a lot of missed time for a crucial position. That roster spot can go to a more intelligent player who won't get suspended.

What makes everyone assume that Joseph snitched? If I was the shooter and someone snitched on me, I ain't going down without taking him with me. I would tell the DA that Joseph handed me the gun and told me to shoot him. I think this case may have some twists and turns coming up soon.

But he can still contribute for 2 and a half years.
