I’m just hoping Jonestown doesn’t do more Joey Galloway Amari Cooper flinging 1’s out the door with cap busting contracts to lure Samuels to Dallas .
I don't know if your reference.to "Jonestown" has any connection to Jim Jones and the People's Temple in Guyana, but (not to make light of a mass suicide event) this really cracked me up.

the irony is that amari at 20m looks like a bargain compared to the new contracts...

and even before it became a bargain, it was perfectly designed moving forward for flexibility and team friendliness. just an all around bungle to move on when they did and for what they did.

The Debo trade talk is simply contract posturing IMO. Seriously doubt the niners trade him unless they get a foolish offer from a FO who believes WRs are the key to winning. No GM over-values WRs that I can think of…uh-oh.

Yeah, the Niners aren't caving. Deebo mistimed his request. The Niners now have time to plan for the possibility that he'll hold out and not play. He should have pulled a Zeke and made the demand after the draft.

Agree but now since DP got paid now all of the receivers are wanting to get paid and before you know it that position will be like the QB position on getting paid.

Let me counter this way, if he's better than the WRs in this draft, which I think we agree that he is, then why should they not? If they're going to go QB next year anyway, why not use some of the capital to get a player you know is lethal and, paired with Smith, means that you now have the best WR duo in the division with ease. In my mind, it still makes sense for them to do it.

If It's me, I offer a first and a 2nd for Deebo. Not two first round picks. I'd rather Draft Drake London and another pick in the first round. Over giving up both picks for Deebo. To me this is a no brainer. Will Drake be fantastic? I don't know. But I'd be willing to take that chance.

A quarterback only suited to play college ball made the playoffs. Even if with an easy schedule, it still happened.

That's fine. But that team had 0 chance at a championship. If your goal is to make the playoffs, then great. But if your goal was a championship then you had no chance whatsoever of getting it.

I feel dirty about having this thought. I expressed this in another thread as sort of rambling about who Deebo would make sense to be traded to by SFO. My thought was that the Eagles were in play for this trade. This struck a nerve with my mind as I realised just how realistic this is and what this means for the Cowboys.

The NFC East is weak. We are the only team in this division right now that shows much of a threat. As it stands now, the Eagles have no WRs, but a top notch WR along with their picks would make them dangerous next year. They have the ammo (see the next point) to make this happen. The Giants have another 1st courtesy of the deal the Bears made for Fields. However, their secondary sucks, their oline sucks, and they have a ton of other weaknesses that makes this irrelevant. The Commanders are not a threat by any means.

They have 2 first round picks this year and 2 first picks next year. Their main needs are WR and oline. I don't think they keep Hurts this year. WR is probably their biggest need. Also, they have Howie Roseman. I am thinking the Eagles will trade both 1sts this year or one 1st this year and one next year for Deebo. Then, next year, they make a move for a QB when the class is better. This has all the hallmarks of an Eagles move in my view, and it'd put the division into a two team race this year and next.

What the Cowboys should do if this happens:
Firstly, the oline needs help, so that should be addressed. Secondly, we need to bolster the Dline, especially 1T. This will push the pocket and give the QB nightmares. Essentially, this builds up the defensive trench which helps the DBs that'd be tasked with covering Deebo. Thirdly, the Cowboys need to get another CB. We don't know what's going to happen with Kelvin Joseph with his situation, and I'm not sure Brown stays beyond this year. As such, we need another CB on the other side of Diggs.

why worry about such things? how do you know Deebo will be deebo in Philly..i hear he doesn't want to be a swiss army knife , just wants to be a WER and for sure philly doesn't have the OC/HC that calls the plays.. rumors are he wants to be a pure WR with limited carries as a runner..wants to extend his career..

i can care less what our competitors might do and for sure the ay SF is going this year wanting to move on from JG and move to lance and now losing players etc they are one less threat to worry about in the nfc just like seatle losig wilson and others wanting out. most of the big moves wnt to the AFC..if anything the NFC got bit easier to get though IMO..

it evens out.

back to the post,,
dude seriously you are creating a giant what IF HYPOTHETICAL situation just in case it happens and how we should react to it..lmao..calm down..wow this place truly has gone off the deep end..you losing sleep over what MIGHT Happen..

you do realize we played horrible game against the 9ers last game we had 14 penalties, shot ourselves in the foot all game , and didn't play even close to our best and only lost by 6..not sure how Deebo is seen as unstoppable force , not like they blew our doors off.

Philly better devise a defense that doesn't allow our offense to score 40 and 50 points LOL maybe that's their plan 50-49 games lol

I'm not losing sleep over it. I've got plenty more things on my mind than this scenario. It was just one of those thoughts that, football-wise, would be a problem for the Cowboys if this happened. Thus, why I also provided a countermove the Cowboys could make if the Eagles do this. I know we played horribly against the 49ers. As for how I know, I don't know if they will do that. However, if Deebo were going to leave SFO, Philly makes the most sense to me in terms of need and in terms of precedent for a high-caliber WR. Frankly, what I suggested works well even if the Eagles don't get Deebo. We should really take advantage of a weak NFC. The only good division is the NFC West. The Packers are not going to have Rodgers much longer. This is when we should make our team SB caliber.

We play the games all of them judge the season AFTER..all thee offseason comments are a waste of time..its why you play the games..our own fans predicting we finish third last year some right up until we crushed the wft and Philly win streaks late in the season..allow as going to be lost..lmao you all are precious.

want to judge the offseason lets talk 2-2023

As long as Hurts is the Eagles QB, nothing to worry about.

It got me nervous thinking it yesterday after I made a post in another thread and thought more about it. However, I stopped worrying about it fairly quickly after I posted this thread. There's plenty of things going on IRL that makes being worried about this for a long time foolish for me, but I thought it would be a good thread to make.

I know that our rivals have done things like that and it failed. I just was looking at the Deebo situation. Looked at the TO situation, and I realised there were some comparable situations taking place, and that this could be a legit Destination and made sense. I'm pretty sure we will smash the Eagles as long as they keep Hurts.

On that I agree. If Philly ever gets a real QB, they'd be scary.

Hades, I'm afraid they start Minshew. At least he's a QB!!!!

All 3 of the other teams in our division would definitely be scary w/ an upgrade at QB.

Minshew isn't a problem for us. Them trading up for a QB next year would be a big problem for the Cowboys, especially if they were to get Samuel.

This is hardly breaking news, man. Every bad team would be better if you put a good QB on it. I mean we saw how bad the Cowboys, which most would agree is at least a good team, turned when THEY lost THEIR good QB. The QB is important.. that's why all the good ones are breaking the bank.. and even mediocre ones are getting a visit from the Brinks truck.

I know that first round QBs aren't a guaranteed jackpot. I've argued that countless times with the usual suspects on here. That said, my argument in this case is if they get a very good QB next year and Deebo, they could become a problem for us.
