It's his second season for crying out loud. Most corners usually don't come into their own until the 3rd year. Let's not forget that he's been playing through a very tough injury (shoulder) and a wrong scheme, arguably. Y'all are quick to pounce on someone after a bad game or two. Relax, he'll get better, I promise.

He will get better. It will benefit the Cowboys. And piss off a large section of the fan base. I am excited to see that.

They want shutdown corner in a zone scheme who routinely gets no less than 10 pick sixes per season.

Does not matter what lables people want to put on Claiborne, team and organization expect more from him and it is up to him to get out there and make the plays. Personally I have not give up on the guy but sometimes a coach has to give a player a wake up call. I think it is critical how Claiborne responds to this. With Denver coming in he will get his chances to make plays.

He is well on the way. Part of it is his bad play, part of it was the brainless scheme switcheroo after investing heavily in cover corners.

I don't think you're seeing just how bad he is playing right now. These aren't growing pains.

I think people want a corner who doesn't get torched every play, but whatever. Hyperbole makes you feel better since it's all you have.

Claiborne is a bust. He stinks out there. He wasn't good last year now he is worse.

Too early to call him a bust.

He sure does have some bust potential but only given the really high expectations.

LOL.

How's it not growing pains when multiple players are struggling in coverage?

"Now we're basically a zone team,” he said on his weekly ESPN Dallas radio show on 103.3 FM on Tuesday night. “You have to play within that zone. Everything is new to everybody. When guys come in and hit those big dig routes in between the zones, then of course the corner's there, so they're going to say, 'Oh, yeah, that's the corner.'

"It's still a transition. When we were in press, just faced up man-to-man, they only hit one ball on me. But overall, I think all my big plays come within the zone."

Dude, you know how it is around here. Before Dez really blew up last year we had people saying we needed to get rid of him. It's the way part of the fan base is. It is what it is. We've got people ranking Denver as an "all time" team after 4 games and calling our own draft picks busts after less than 2 years in the league. Can't let it get to you.

1. ProFootball-Focus.com has Claiborne ranked 99th out of 101 corners who see significant action.
OK, I don't know the nativity of ProFootball-Focus, but i don't think it has axes to gore.
2. Jerra has said the shoulder injury is a non-issue.

If he is not a bust, then I am Brent Musburger scouting the stands for pretty gals.

If Kiffie sits him down agin the Broncos it will be a kindness. Exposing Claiborne to Manning could ruin the youngster's career.

But one thot: If Scandrick was Claiborne's backup, how awful must Scandrick really be????? Eeek!

Agreed, not a bust... yet. But he's headin' there real fast.

And high expectations... that comes with being the #6 pick in the draft.

And people keep talking about him being wasted in this scheme... that's BULL. The plays he's getting beat on are in MAN TO MAN coverage... his supposed "Strength".

Maybe one day he can salvage his career and end up with a Fred Smoot or Mario Edwards-like career :(

With the investment for the corner position, I can't even comprehend why Jerry jones would switch from man to zone when he has 100 million dollars allocated between 3 CB's

We played man and zone before, and we're still playing both MAN and zone. Most of the plays Claiborne got beat were in MAN coverage.
