However, hes going to get better. This guy has a high learning curve. Didnt play around in school, either. In his five years at Mississippi State, got his Master's Degree.

I saw Dez on the sidelines joking with Ezekiel Elliott. I think Dez sees it too, already has rapport with Dak.

Cant wait to see Zeke next week.

I think this is going to be an important season in Cowboy history.

forget everyone else (including Zeke)... if Dallas hits on Dak its an epic draft.

Recall that for weeks after the draft there were stories about just how much Jerry regretted not getting that trade done to move up and grab Paxton Lynch.

When the trade attempts didn't pan out, Dak Prescott was supposed to be our crappy consolation prize in the 4th round.

How's that look now?

I texted that to HoustonSucks during the game last night. If the Cowboys had actually had an opportunity to see what Morris would look like behind our line I don't think they would have drafted Zeke. They had film and scouting reports, but that's not the same as seeing how the guy performs on your team - and IMO Morris has exceeded expectation. He's a very shifty runner who can find yards in tight spaces. If they had a chance to see him and how well he is playing I don't think there is any way they would have gone RB at 4. I assume it would have been either Ramsey or trading down in round 1.

That's the way it goes when you're rebuilding the D with a bunch of unproven youngsters. One year they're all "morons" and the next year they're kicking arse... it's the right way to build a solid program if you draft and coach well. So far I like what I'm seeing and our latest defensive draft haul hasn't even played yet.

I'm a fan who typically tries not to get too wound up over preseason performances, but this Dak Prescott is just out of this world right now. Credit where credit is due and I do not feel bad about getting excited over the legitimate possibility that we have our heir apparent in house.

It is literally chilling to think that we could have a "Favre to Rodgers" type passing of the torch here. (And I'm not at all comparing Dak to Rodgers; just the fact that we have a bonafide franchise QB starting right now, with a POTENTIAL one right behind him).

Could you imagine if any of the other 3 highly drafted rookie QB's were doing what Dak is doing right now? What the media reaction would be? The great part is that those other guys were looked at as immediate or almost immediate starters. Our boy is just barely starting to be groomed behind Romo.

And edit to add: QB is so important that if Dak pans out the rest of this draft is icing on the cake.

All of our RB's have some good size to them, and with speed to. Even Rod Smith if he makes it at FB has some speed to him.
That will be the thing to watch, Keith or Rod at FB, if they keep a FB.
But the RB's, Morris is the shortest at 5-10, but weighs 224, McFadden is the lightest at 210, but is 6-1
All are in the 6-0 220 to 230 range, all with some speed and moves.

I liked what I seen from Darius Jackson in the open field of what he can possibly do. I hope they keep 4 RB's this year, since Hanna will be out on PUP for a while. This can open the door for 4 RB's, but there are 2 WR's pushing for them to keep 6. Andy Jones, as well as, Vince Mayle, he has a little something too. And both were on ST's too.

But yes, with the RB's we have, this can be a fun offense to watch.

Tony won't allow it. Dak already said Tony is always giving him encouragement as well as helping him with things about the game.

I understand what you're saying. Goff and Wentz surely aren't he standard but I bring them up when the argument is used that preseason doesn't matter. Or if it's easy. It will be far harder for this to translate into the season but like I said above its that easy why isn't every qb killing it?

My bar for Dak is to simply manage games and be the backup. Just give us that and you were worth the pick.

True but remember, and this is using the Jones' own words, the Cowboys are toeing the line between the future and winning right now in Romo's short window.

I just simply don't agree with people that claim we couldn't have added a vet DE or two in the offseason. It would not have prevented you from taking Tapper not stunted the development of the team.

A lot of you are going to be wrong. Elliot has turned this team into a SB contender. I think it will take approximately two carries in next weeks game to show that. With Morris, this offense is top six or seven in the league. With Zeke? Unstoppable, top one or two.

Our defense will be known as "The Custodians" because their job will be to clean up the remnants of the utterly broken teams who face this tsunami of an offense.

I think the coaches never trusted Randle to pick up the blitz. And if you never ask him to do that the defense will know he'll get the ball every time he's in.

The only thing that boggles my mind is that they went into last season with him as our number one.

In 5 years this draft class will include a top 3 RB, QB, and LB in the league. Okay, maybe top 5-10 for Dak but still.

I felt odd saying i "like" this post. But having a QB is crucial. I just wish the front office would be prudent in drafting another QB in the near future. You see what happens when you don't have one. Keep them in the pipeline, use them as trade bait. You can't keep doing the same thing and expecting different results.

Here's to hoping for more of the "different"

This reminds me of the 1990 draft when our target was James Francis and the Bengals took him the pick right before us. So we settled with our backup plan who's name was Emmitt Smith, who was also the 2nd RB taken after Blair Thomas. Sometimes the biggest blessings are the trades that fall through and the players you wanted gets picked by someone else.

Dak has a Master's degree? That's awesome. I'm just as impressed with that as his play. In a weird way that shows me that the kid is willing to put effort into a long term venture. He knows the value of hard work. I love this kid, I'm glad we got him.

Even so, next year's draft will be based in large part on his performance in these games.
