Well, 2011 and 2015 he was out for 10 and 12 games, respectively. You won't win many games playing from the sideline.

From '11-13 Romo was the only reason the Cowboys were 8-8 rather than 5-11 - or worse.

So the answer is nothing. That's what I thought. By the way, I seem to remember that in 11-13 there was a week 17 game that would get them to the playoffs with a win and Romo never got it done. I remember because each game ended the same exact way with Romo having that deer in the headlights look on his face after throwing ints, fumbling, and realizing he had choked it away again. Yeah, let's replace our stud rookie qb that seems to overcome anything put in his path with a qb that never really won anything in the past 10 years.

Some of you all would have stuck with Bledsoe over Brady. Montana over Young... not saying Dak is going to be either, but you have to move on at some point. We might be nearing that point.

Not sure how anyone could possibly compare Romo to Prescott. It's night and day right now. Will this kid continue to improve? Absolutely. Is he at Romo's level? Not even close. When Romo returns, the offense will open up, we'll be able to pass down field, and Elliott's production will increase even more.

Stunning how short people's memory's are and the media certainly doesn't want to help.

That was then, this is now Bro. Why try to fix what isn't broken? Yeah, I know he'll come back and start but it won't be pretty the first week or two and losses could occur. Could cost us the division. Meh, IF managed properly this could work out spectacularly. IF mismanage? Not so much.

I would look at trying to get him back vs. the Browns in Cleveland. Most of you keep talking about Philly but that's a helluva tough task for his first game back. We shall see, but glad we have the run game to protect him because that's what he really needs.

Were it not for Romo, those week 17s wouldn't have mattered, but just to humor you...

2011 - Romo wasn't the reason behind the loss to the Giants. His QB rating was 105.9 for that game, and though he did throw one pick, he also threw 2 TDs (and should have been 3 had Miles Austin not lost a ball in the lights).

2012 - Bad game against Washington, but he split the blame with the defense, who gave up 220+ yards rushing to Alfred Morris.

2013 - Romo didn't even play in week 17. He was injured the previous week on the final play of the comeback drive against Philadelphia. Without that drive, week 17 is meaningless.

If he comes back fully healthy, it gives the offense an entirely different dimension because he's so accompilshed at reading defenses.

It also takes a dimension away. At least some of Zeke's success comes from the threat of Dak's ability to run. That dimension is all but gone with Romo in there.....

I keep reading that Romo deserves a shot to start. How? He never made it out of preseason. Dak deserves a shot at finishing what he's started. He's gone to battle with this group, they will be in his corner every step of the way. The team doesnt kiss the ground Romo walks on. He's been sidelined for most of the last 2 seasons. They see what Dak has done and will be partial to the guy in the trenches with them....

This is asinine. Go back and read the player's quotes after the Miami game last year. This team loves Romo. You dont think Dez wants Romo to come back? Witten? Twill? The defense. I swear the most on here are prisoners in the moment.

The players/coaches want to win, bottom line. The superior QB gives them the best chance to win, and thats Romo.

Have we seen this at all from Dak this year? NO we haven't. Anyone who says this is our "dramatically better" QB is either not smart or biased.

It's the Dak show from here if we want any chance of winning.

Really? Asinine? Read your own post, "players quotes AFTER the Miami game". How many games has Romo played in for the past 2 years? Ask the players NOW what they think about Dak and you'll get the same response you got for Romo. If Witten wants any chance at a SB, it will be with Dak at QB. And of course crybaby Dez would want Romo. Dak has pretty much said he won't force the ball to Dez if he's not open. If most here are prisoners in the moment, what do you call yourself, a prisoner of the past? Romo has had very few moments over the past 2 years. I love the guy, but this is business. This team is winning with Dak. Why screw with that?.....

Sup, troll? We're Cowboys fans. Not only Prescott/Romo. Give it a rest.

Are you that dense? This was last year we're talking about here. This team loves Romo, whether you or any of the other Romo haters on here want to admit. Yes he's missed games, but guess what, when healthy he has won 15 out of his last 19 games. And "crybaby" Dez? Really? Do we really have to degrade our players to prove a point?

Another more recent Romo video.

Does Dak look like this at all? How soon we all forget. I feel bad that Romo got hurt. I dont wish injury upon anyone. It isn't his fault, he should have never been out there in the first place.

The Carolina game is exactly why I don't want to see us rush Romo back. I've seen some say, "He's been out 10 weeks. No one is rushing him." True enough, but we have the luxury of allowing him to knock off the cobwebs in practice and be mentally prepared in the film room before turning him loose.

If he needs to be preparing for anything, it is retirement.

I never said the team doesn't love Romo. And "yes he's missed games" is an understatement. He's missed years. As long as Dak is winning, Jerry would be stupid to pull him. If we're 6-2 or 5-3 when Romo is "ready", you let Dak play it out. And yes, Dez needs to stop crying and start playing. Have we really missed the guy since he's been out? He's our $70 mil dollar invisible man. Give us a reason to miss you Dez.

Do you really have to degrade other posters to prove your point? Works both ways.....
