I just can't root for an L for draft position.

The team has to fight back right now if it can.

There are 53 guys who need to show why they are being played.

Even if somehow we can do 8-8 this year and out of the playoffs.

so what?

We can blame losing Zeke and injuries as the reason we are not far off for 2018.

Now if we go like 5-11..

thats's another situation entirely.

I am waiting to see if this team has the urgency to right the ship.

I'm hopeful it is.

It will make 2018 some hope..
Chances are this team will bounce back with or without Garrett because that's their M.O. I don't think whatever happens this year has an effect on next year because if it did we'd be going to the playoffs now. The only thing I'm worried about is Dak. He needs to start playing better.

I was actually supposed to go to this game. We had some stuff come up so I couldn't go, but a couple of my friends are actually boarding a plane as I type this on their way out there. Obviously I wish circumstances were different, but I'm still pulling for a win. If we can win AND Garrett gets fired,I'd buy everyone on the forum round

And the OL.

If they aren't dominating..

We can't win.

Two things. 1) If’s are not certainties. 2) I have absolutely no idea why you are discussing ‘integrity of the game’.

Are there documented recordings or quoted accounts of organizations’ management and/or coaching staffs deliberately planning and executing tanking?

this is so silly i have no other way to interpret your argument other than you are worried about the 'integrity' of the game... regarding tanking, there are numerous articles on team tanking in different sports.

you can continue to go in your corner with your head-in-the-sand defense.

if your team had the 5th pick in the draft and my team had the 15th pick in the draft, why dont we swap picks with no other compensation. it does not make a difference, right?

:lmao:

Even if we do finish 10-6(it won’t happen)we most likely will not make the playoffs. To many good teams 2-3 games ahead of us.
I'm not disputing any of that but until the Cowboys are officially eliminated I'm not giving up hope like most of you have. I understand how much of a long shot they are to make the playoffs but I'm not quitting on the team. If it makes you feel better to do so then good for you.

it would be bad if they managed to squeeze into the playoffs.
draft pick gets worse and we subject dak to getting injured with a team not designed to win it all.
one and out is far worse than 5-11.

Do you believe other people interpreted my comments like yourself? The possibility exists the only person who wandered out into that left field pasture is you.

I am sure there is. I doubt I will find any articles meeting the criteria I mentioned earlier. Nor do I believe that you could as well.

5th pick? And 15th pick? Your criteria? Okay.

10 drafts | 2007-2016

5th Overall Picks:
Cardinals
2007 Levi Brown
2011 Patrick Peterson
Chiefs
2008 Glenn Dorsey
2010 Eric Berry
Jaguars
2012 Justin Blackmon
2016 Jalen Ramsey
Jets
2009 Mark Sanchez
Lions
2013 Ezekiel Ansah
Raiders
2014 Khalil Mack
Washington
2015 Brandon Scherff

These 5th overall picks helped 6 teams reach the playoffs: Cardinals, Chiefs, Jets, Lions, Raiders and Washington.

15th Overall Picks:
Browns
2016 Corey Coleman
Chargers
2015 Melvin Gordon
Chiefs
2008 Branden Albert
Dolphins
2011 Mike Pouncey
Giants
2010 Jason Pierre-Paul
Saints
2013 Kenny Vaccaro
Seahawks
2012 Bruce Irvin
Steelers
2007 Lawrence Timmons
2014 Ryan Shazier
Texans
2009 Brian Cushing

These 15th overall picks helped 7 teams reach the playoffs: Chiefs, Dolphins, Giants, Saints, Seahawks, Steelers, and Texans.

Yep. Big difference in results when considering higher draft pick 'pedigree' is an imperative for winning success. Maybe it boils down to integrity of the game or some other conjecture you alone conceived. Who knows?

As for my thoughts on the matter, I want my team to draft well regardless of how the team finishes each season. Some teams finish well and draft well. An amazing accomplishment. Well, not really, but when some observers' beliefs prevent them from foreseeing quality drafting due to superficial slotting of college athletes... well, yeah, it probably is freaking amazing to the shortsighted.

That's just moronic. The 10-6 Cowboys that make the playoffs are most certainly designed to win it all. Why do the Cowboys have to be 16-0 with all healthy players for you to think the Cowboys are worthy of playoff contention. Everyone is beat up at this time of year so don't go thinking Dak is somehow in anymore jeopardy than anyone else. A real Cowboy fan should want the team to try to make the playoffs as long as they are still in the hunt. Once they are out of the hunt then they can tank all you want, but until then I'm glad they haven't quit like you have.

sure you want organizations to publicly acknowledge tanking which could be used against them. nice strawman.

your entire argument are strawmen.

post all the picks you want. with 2 gm's at the draft. the one with the 15th pick ask the one with the 5th pick to swap picks with no other compensation. what would happen?

i am not the one who came up with the integrity of the game thing. people who objected to tanking did.

the only winner is the superbowl winner.
everyone else is a loser for the season.
at least be a loser with a better draft pick.

I understand... you have quit on the team. I'm still hopeful for them to be that "one winner" you speak of.
