Use him to do what? Sit on the bench an entire game and then put him in on goalline so he can make a rebound?

He's 24, never played football before being drafted and only participated in hand full of preseason games. I think he needs more time and some real game experience. Not saying he's going to be great but I think his value goes up as time moves on. Maybe a year or 2.. Ricos a productive member of the offense. Hard to have huge expectations right now considering, but I think he could be worth the effort down the road.

I want to buy into that, but why hasn't he gotten snaps?

never played football. Even guys drafted who played 4 years of college, 4 years of high school and peewees take time to develop. Tough to ask a player who never suited up before he joined a professional team to learn a playbook, how to block, how to run routes. etc.. All things he's never done at any level before now.

I actually applaud them for this.

He has his flaws for sure but he has a skill set none of the other TEs have.

Man Im kind of at the point where I feel or have been led to believe his flaws are being worked on and hes doing what he supposed to NOW. If hes willing to put in the work then good for him.

another explanation for what happened is that the team knows he can make those plays but want to push him to improve his blocking. so he seemingly responded by doing better and gaining that 20 lbs or so. i still rather see him at 265, more agile and mostly be that matchup receiving tightend than trying to be witten

If we can't get creative and use him, then replace the whole staff.

Redzone..... If you're worried about him blocking, line him up wide like a wr, and use the other 2 to block.

Stack the box, throw it up to him. Double him, run it. Simple

For all the people who are either hating on Rico or just aren’t big fans of his my question Is who do you justify keeping over him? A bum 5th DT? Some scrubby *** linebacker? A 5th safety who shouldn’t even be in the league? A 7th wideout who will never be active?

Rico will have a much bigger impact than any one of those I mentioned. Also the guy Shultz looks small and not ready to play. I understand you don’t want to cut a 4th rounder but this guy doesn’t look ready physicaly and looks to be a year away. We always activate 3 TEs so I don’t see how Rico is even in the conversation to get released
