Romo never had a Defense that was this good. He also never got to play with Zeke. Romo’s Quick release, sliding within the pocket, and Houdini escapability would make the o-line better. His accuracy would make Cooper, Beasley, and Gallup better. Too bad Dak makes receivers and the o-line worse.
Romo had 11 uears to win it all.
So, on the 13th year he could have done it?
Over the Rams, Vikes, Pats, Eagles, Falcons, etc?
Lol

You don’t like the slobberers phrase. I’m sorry I can’t take credit for the phrase.

Every player is fair game for criticism.
So you're another forum members' joke slobberer. Cool.

I don't know if he would win the Superbowl but we would be a 2 loss team at worst and possibly undefeated.
Who knows what would have happened .

I would have liked Romo while healthy to be able to make a run for a few years with the team we had in 2014 with a defense like this.

Would we have had more success? Pure speculation but I’d of liked our chances breaking thru with a more consistent balanced team overall.

Yea. It’s perfect. Dak slobberers. Lol

I was surprised it was allowed but the author of it is a well renowned member and critic here. I don’t align with all of his criticism but love that.

It would actually be funny if it were remotely accurate.

Love Romo, but he didn't even lead us to an NFC Championship.

He had a chance... 2016 was the year for him to state his case to Jerry and co.
He should have done whatever it took and fought to be put back in.

Well here is the thing.

I know Zeke with more space is going to be better then what he is right now and he still leads the league in rushing.

I know Romo is a brilliant thrower of the football and doesn't lack anticipation like Dak Prescott does and loading the box against him like that would be just too easy for him to throw against.

The only thing that would get them is Garrett's arrogant attitude of being predictable and you can't stop us cause we're the big bad Dallas Cowboys.

I gave you Owens (mostly), and I gave you the point about Witten getting open (usually very briefly though, and Romo knew when and where to throw it), but I don't recall Witten making many "great catches". He was usually a 'go out, turn around, and the ball will be in your gut when you get there' type of guy....with occasional exceptions, like the helmetless TD.

Dez made some great contested catches, but the ball was usually where it was to his advantage over the defender.

I don't see how Witten or Dez made Tony better. It's not like Eli, whose receivers made, and still make him look better than he really is.

As for Dak, I'm hoping he gets much better with time, and I'm willing to give him enough time to see if he does. I like the kid, personally, and he has the tools. He just doesn't use the right tools for the job enough of the time.
It's pretty simple. Great players make players around them better. Kind of like the jags Romo made look better, they just had chemistry to produce. If you put Romo in his prime on a team like the 89' Cowboys he wouldn't be making many players look better than they are.

No, but he probably does ok with 92-95 team.

Who do you think elevates those around him more. Romo or Dak?

Romo had decent defenses in 2007 & 2009 when he went to the playoffs and he could do great things at times,
but he probably would have died in last week's game if he took some of those hits
that's a problem and that's why his time in the nfl ended

Romo was good enough to elevate some around him but not all like Rodgers or Brady. All those years I wanted a Rodgers and he might have been enough at least one year? Who knows..

The only difference in Romo’s career and some of the greater ones in his era is a championship ring.

I’m not a Romo homer but I’d argue he was one of the best QB’s in his era not to win a championship.

Its still early in Daks career but if we don’t have any more success than this is his legacy going to be all about his sensational Rookie season.

Or do you think he might become the franchises all time leading rushing QB?

I’d be curious what some of the Dak slobberers expectations are?

What would it take to be as disappointed as they were with Romo? Lol

I doubt Bill was ever a "yes" man. As far as I'm aware, Jerry wanted him to continue coaching the team after his four year contract terminated, and Bill never said Jerry was difficult to work with. Whether Jerry wanted him to coach under some new conditions like you're suggesting, I guess that's a moot point.

No. Bill absolutely spoke on the relationship. Bill, according to Bill, said that he wanted complete control over Football decisions. Bill wanted input which is another way of saying he wanted control. Jerry said many times that all decision were made jointly. Bill was never a yes man but I believe that, like what happened with Jimmy, Jerry wanted more control and it became a problem. I personally believe that Jerry wanted JG to become a significant part of the team and I don't believe Bill was open to that. That's just my opinion though.

With this Oline he would get killed and would throw 3 picks a game. With these receivers and Garrett not a chance. He would barely make the playoffs.

I believe Tony could win it this year, but I also believe he could have won while he was playing too, but just didn't. I just disagree with the notion that he couldn't have won in the past but would win it now.
