No we're not. Hill, Collins, Crawford,Woods aren't game changers like McCoy. He would give us the juice to get over the hump in the front four .

Let's see Hill play a few games 1st before saying what he isn't.

Fair enough. It's just that as an talent I am taking Gerald McCoy if I am trying to win a Super Bowl. Especially if it's right now... Our defensive line would have 3 all-pro caliber players. Hill could develop but he's not going to be the kind of player year one with the kind of impact a pissed off McCoy with a chip on his shoulder and something to prove would be.

According to most articles, they believe he will be released fairly soon rather then later.
They believe there is no trade intreat at all.
Period.
McCoy has a lot of wear and tear on him and If he had anything left I doubt the Bucs would cut him. Dallas isnt even sure of what they have and really need to find out before replacing a young guy with an old vet like McCoy.

1. Woods
2. Collins
3. Hill
4. Covington
5. Crawford

That's without Ross, Wise or Hyder making the team. IMO there just isn't room for McCoy unless we are willing to offload Crawford. McCoy is a good player, a perfect fit for what we do but he's a short-term fix and we've got a lot of short-term options already. I can't see it happening but if we were to move on Crawford and pay McCoy 10m a season or so it's probably only a 3-4m cap difference and IMO we're a much better team for it.

We don't need pro-bowl talent, we have Trysten Hill. Trysten Hill is everything Rod Marinelli wants in a DT and we needed to draft him 58th overall to replace Maliek Collins in a year, who was drafted 67th overall because he's everything Rod Marinelli wants in a DT.
problem is, what has that pro bowl talent done to help Tampa win? I realize they are a mess, but Im only wondering how big a difference he would be here in our rotation. We already have several decent players stacked at the position. We would likely have to cut a guy like Collins or Ross. Ross showed up solidly when he got his chances last year...and he cost us virtually nothin...he was an UDFA...as was Woods. Hate to say the cliché...but I like the guys we have lol. I really do...factor in Hill...and we have a nice nucleus in the middle. Only way I am signing McCoy is if we have a injury to woods or Collins. Then someone is getting cut.

Ross better not sleep. He did very little last year. He needs great improvement if he plans on making the team this season.
your wrong. Links is correct on this. Ross looked really good and exceeded expectations when he was in the rotation. You do realize he was an UDFA right? The guy showed out in camp and made the team. He will likely make the team and be a crucial guy in the rotation. He is a big body guy with power and quicks. That's hard to find. He wont be getting cut unless he stanks it up badly in camp.

I LIKE OUR GUYS in the middle. Barring injury...we don't need a high priced vet at DT.

Teams cut great players all the time. Could be pricetag, could be team-player relationship, or could be something more obvious: He’s a career 4-3 3-tech and they’re converting to 3-4, so he’s not a scheme fit. He’s a little oversized for a 3-4 DE and he’d be completely wasted as a NT, a la Albert Haynesworth.

These are the last 6 seasons for McCoy, keep in mind he’s a DT:

2013: 9.5 sacks
2014: 8.5 sacks
2015: 8.5
2016: 7
2017: 6
2018: 6

You could say he may not be what he was in 2013, but a run Stuffing specialist who’s a lock for 6 sacks every year is a phenomenal acquisition at DT. He’s still got it and should be a Force well into his 30’s.

only if the price is right and we have a vacancy to fill due to injury. Otherwise, where does he fit? How much will he cost us? That's my real concerns. Who you gonna cut to make room for him?
