Afternoon Pops and friends. I'm with you, Leon. I'm in limbo over the upcoming season and I've got high expectations myself. That's not really unusual for me because I expect a Super Bowl run every year. After a few weeks of sub par performance, I start working on letting myself down gently. I was summoned per doctor's orders to see if they could get government secrets out of me. I flinched plenty but didn't spill a word just like James Bond with his boobs in a vice. I went to Sam's afterwards and got some choco…….

I use them as guinea pigs all the time. I think they are spoiled and expect it now. Time to cut most of them off and make em WISH they could have some of what I bring in. I fancy myself a decent cook and they know that about me so they'll be sorry come Fall when I knock out scratch biscuits and sausage gravy... or my beef and noodles.

Morning Pops, from lovely Brooklyn, NY, where it's a humid, smelly 75°, at 6:21 a.m.

My company is watching our idle times, so I can't run the A/C while I wait for my first customer to open, so I have to roll the windows down, but there's a delicate balance between rolling them down enough to let the engine heat out, yet not so far that the crashing, clanking, clunking, and banging of the garbage trucks flying by is too deafening.... There's nothing I can do about the stench.

Morning, Pops and pen pals. We are leaving tomorrow to fly to Miami where we will leave Saturday for a week long cruise to the Bahamas. We are celebrating our 50th anniversary and there are 18 people going with us to share the experience and witness our renewal of our vows aboard the ship.

My daughter's fiance's mother invited me to play in a couples golf tournament today so wish me luck. I've played decently my last two rounds, but before that I stunk. My handicap has gone up one full point in the last month. My real handicap is having golf clubs in my hand. lol.

Yeah, that was a great delivery. A guy speaking Chinenglish, and thinking that if he speaks louder and throws in a few generic hand gestures, I'll understand what he wants me to do. All I could get was "5 minutes, 5 MINUTES!"..... Okay, guess I'll just wait and see what happens in 5 minutes.

Congratulations, @LeonDixson. Not many couples make it beyond 5 years, so 50 is a monumental achievement! And, a cruise with family and friends sounds like a great way to celebrate.

Morning Pops. Morning Fellas and good morning to all who have stopped in and checked out the thread.

It's Thursday and thank goodness for that. Wife is coming home tomorrow so that's good news for me. Doesn't take long for me to get around to realizing how much I miss her when she's not around. LOL......

Probably will have to work over the weekend but that's OK. We will probably take the Grandson out to Chucky Cheese or somewhere and celebrate his BDay now that Gramma is back. That will be fun for all involved.

So sorry to hear about the new AC rules on your job, Runny. Haven't those funkleheads heard about the oppressive heat? It made national news, for Pete's sake! They should make a run in your truck before cracking down on the AC usage.

Actually, I'm not crazy about idling the truck and spewing more poison into the atmosphere than absolutely necessary anyway. It's just times like that, sitting in the city, on a noisy, stank street, I wish the A/C didn't require a running engine. It's all good though, I survived.

Good morning Pops and friends. Congrats Leon that’s quite an accomplishment. The Mrs and I hit the 42nd year mark a couple of weeks ago. We only knew each other a couple of months before I popped the question. I knew she was the one for me, was hoping she felt the same. She said yes and we got married a month later. Crazy how Time flies! Haven’t figured her out yet, work in progress

Good Morning Pops and bon voyage to Leon and the saint of a woman for putting up with him for 50 years. Bon voyage is French for don't fall over the railing when puking into the ocean or pass out from too much Dramamine. French are funny, ain't they? Two little words and they mean all that.

Would have been 51 for us or possibly 40 with her married to another man and me roaming the streets in a 1962 Nash Rambler with a cache of ramen noodles and a 50lb bag of rice in the trunk.

11:51 a.m., and unless they send me back out, I'm done with deliveries for the day. Not a bad way to start the weekend.

I expect I'll have a Long Island run on Monday, because of this early day, which means a short Sunday.

But I barely care,so I don't expect anyone else to. Hehehehe.

Wife is headed home from Dallas so I'm off to go pick her up from the AP. I think we might just drop off the bags and head straight for some Food and maybe start Happy Hour early this Friday. I imagine that she has had a very long week and I know that I have so maybe that's the plan today.
