Actually, it doesn't. If Dak is so great, it suggests good QBs can be found later in the draft.

Kind of like all the other positions in the league, some high picks are busts, and some later picks outperform their draft slot.
How many QBs have been drafted within the first 4 rounds in the last 10 years?

And how many of those QBs ended up being as good as Dak Prescott?

Do you REALLY not know how incredibly difficult it is to find a good QB in the draft?

You thought Allen was terrible? Looked pretty promising to me. He's a playmaker.
Don't know why. Allen's accuracy was atrocious. Makes Dak look like Joe Montana. Couldn't get the ball in the end zone, took off running too much, can't read a D, very slow making decisions. Looks like he doesn't see the field well. If not for his 5 TD performance against MIA in the finale, his stats would look really bad.

Exactly what is it that makes you say he looks promising?

It's not that hard to find 22 TD passes and under 4000 yards passing.

Dak's production can be easily found.

If you draft you may get a bust and you may get a Superstar.

Going all the way back to 2014 it's difficult to not find a QB without a mediocre floor in the draft.

Yeah we'll see. I've always liked his talent. I was kind of by myself on his college evaluation. I may be wrong about him but he's such a great athlete that I feel like he can be a good player. A Poor mans Cam Newton.

I still prefer my nick name of Trebuchet. Because he throws like one.
Dak will from now on be known as Musket.
The ball will go downrange and probably even hit within ten feet of the bullseye.

Unless of course the pan just flashes but the ball never leaves.

Of course. It's possible. However, he was not even close to good last season. If you like him on potential, that is understandable.

Athleticism doesn't make a QB. Cam Newton has been hohum except for one season.

I simply disagree w/ your last statement. Mediocre floor means a decent starter. And those are very difficult to find.

Yeah, he is light years better than Dak...……...Haaaaaaaaabaaaaaaaaaaaaa:laugh::lmao::lmao2:

He sucks too and Dak, in that Chicago offense without Zeke and the RG would probably suck even more.

And to be fair, Mitch didn’t play a single snap in pre-season, unlike Dak.

Who in this league doesn't have a mediocre QB?

Most of the QB's either fall into unproven or mediocre QB category.

We're probably facing the worst NFL veteran this week and something tells me he wont be that bad.

Prescott is being overly criticized, a practice that is not unique to the quarterback position here on CowboysZone.com. Good or bad, accurate or inaccurate interpretation, individual player statistics are good point/counterpoints for discussion.

However, the misapplication of team wins onto a single player has gotten way out of control. For the sake of discussion, let's say Prescott was the starting quarterback of the Arizona Cardinals for the past three seasons. Do some people believe Prescott would have the 'exact same winning record' as a Cardinal?

Way. Out. Of. Control. It does not matter if your name is Staubach, Bradshaw, Montana or even Brady, teams accumulated wins and teams accumulate losses. And teams sometimes end up with ties, lol.

I think you're defining mediocre differently.

Dak does have some downfield accuracy issues but all QB's are dinking and dunking.

Almost every QB throws for over 60% these days.

Somebody tried to liken Dak’s dink and dunk, check-downs, because he’s scared to throw the ball, to Brady’s pre-snap read, get the ball out incredibly quick for maximum advantage, because he’s exploiting the defensive look ‘dink and dunks’.

The lengths people go to defend Dak is pretty comical..

Plus 6 rush TD, plus countless GW drives, plus a 96.0 rating, plus a 32-16 record.

Yeah, those guys grow on trees.

Dak had like 7 or 8 games with under 210 yards passing but that completion percentage was high lol.

I disagree strongly Dak has many failing but he has that 'IT" factor, many more talented QBs taken much earlier dont .

Those numbers are Dak Numbers pretty much week in week out!
Dak has 17 games in 3 seasons for under 200 yards what the heck are you celebrating about?
Crazy ....
Well the big question who cares how many of those games did he actually win. How many teams went over 300 yards and lost. Please yardage means nothing ask Elliott how many yards 6 touchdowns

Guy was absolute trash when Zeke was suspended and we played Atlanta, Eagles and San Diego, teams that were above average. We couldn’t even break double digits.

When we played the Raiders, Giants and Commanders, all three teams with nothing to play for and were out of the race, his check downs and high percentages struggled to squeak out wins in the fourth with which more talented rosters. His check-downs required busted coverages by comically inept teams for us to win.

This is pretty much evident in the red-zone. If his “dink and dunk” was like Brady’s, Dak would have no problems finding the end-zone in the 20s. But his check-downs are basically ‘safety valves’.
