Jerry said he got Jason's back though.
There is no point in making a change now, as much as most of us would like to see one, just out of mental relief. There are 4 games to go and it takes time to assemble the right replacement staff. It should start with the GM as well - it is a figure head position anyway. At this juncture in Jerry's career it should be good enough to still be owner of a storied franchise. Even if we won out, do we really expect to go deep in the playoffs? If we did I would gladly eat my words but guys this yearly up and down drama by this football team needs to end.

How can anyone feel sorry for Garrett? He's 10 years in.... Way more time than any other person would've gotten for sure. Everyone knows it, even he knows it. How could he not? LOL

But didn't you know...……..Garrett has been a victim here? LOL

1) He wasn't told that.
2) Why would that be clap worthy by him? That's just dumb.
3) He's not done after this. Jerry said he has Jason's back.
4) Your wishful thinking is setting you up for a huge disappointment once again.

Exhibit A for self delusion
:facepalm::lmao:

Before the homers claim this is just Internet speculation, keep in mind.

1. Skruggs is a long time member of the Dallas media and has a lot of contacts with the team
2. Skruggs is not into clickbait or trying to sell subs like Fisher, what he reports is typically spot on

Bottom line is that if Skruggs says a team source told him this, its not bs. Skruggs doesn't just make chit up like that, so I am sure it happened. Now how much in the know is this source? That is the real question that needs to be asked.
Exactly. His source could be someone who works in the building, but doesn't know jack.

some idiots on this very board still think he’s a great HC, LOL
I don't think I've ever seen anyone call him a "great" HC. He's not the worst in the league, but he's certainly not the best. I think at most, I've seen him called "good", or "above average".

This story is crap.

The only person who is deciding when JG is done is Jerry Jones and he has not made that decision yet.

If the Cowboys do not make a huge turnaround (which seems unlikely) then yes, he is probably gone.

But to say this is already decided is stupid.

Do you think if the Cowboys go on a run, make the playoffs, and somehow win the Super Bowl they are firing Garrett?

No.

Jerry says Jason's job security is absolute .

Jerry says about Garrett : "He's got MY back too." then he said: "I would normally say; 'you're smoking something.' " (someone explain jerry talk. )

Will be curious to see if Mickey will start writing negative things about Jason BEFORE he is gone or if he waits to writes a condescending article about how they just had to get rid of him after defending him so vehemently.
Great point. I'm betting on after he's gone.

Good point. When McCarthy and Lewis got let go last year is meant Garrett became the 2nd longest tenured coach in the entire NFL.

He's has plenty of time, good drafts, a GM that is willing to spent the upper tier of the cap to sign long term franchise players.

Ok please not string this along. Let's fire him and move on.
Only issue with that is either Rod, Kris or Kellen will be elevated for the interim. The team will invariably get a boost just as it did when Jason took over. That would give Jerry false hope and probably make the interim permanent rather than clean house and make an thorough head coach search. Maybe only if Rod is elevated does he not succumb and make the interim permanent.

Ding.....dong.....the witch is dead!!!

Assuming any of what’s been reported is true or close to the truth, it could explain why Jerry was so broken up after the loss, as if he knew this was it.
I was a Garrett supporter for a number of years, and I especially marveled at how he performed his coaching duties despite Jones' intrusive behavior. But the last few years have shown that whatever his role is, he has become inadequate for the task, if not irrelevant. It's time to move on.

you’ve only been here since 2016, I know where the skeletons are buried. There are some here who have gradually been forced to stop making excuses for him or go into hiding to bide their time waiting and hoping that he will finally win something so they can come out of the woodwork and preen and crow that they ‘never lost faith’ that they’re ‘better’ fans. They still believe he’s Tom Landry Jr, just needs more time, LOL. Some have left this board some are still here. I know who they are and they know who they are. Hiding in their rabbit holes
