No celebrating until I see who the next HC is and what moves he makes.
^This.

People should consider how much weight Jones has allotted to his past head coaching hires before automatically assuming he will select the 'best' one.

If Garret had a spine or integrity he would resign.

Perhaps he isn't gone yet because:
1. His contract strictly states he gets the full year (can't imagine Jones would allow a contract like that or even honor it.)
2. Jones is giving him a chance to "right the ship" while they are still mathematically able to make the playoffs and win a SB
3. None of the other current coaches want the role.
4. He is too emotionally enmeshed to do so.

Will be curious to see if Mickey will start writing negative things about Jason BEFORE he is gone or if he waits to writes a condescending article about how they just had to get rid of him after defending him so vehemently.
I've been told by his fans he doesn't backtrack on what he says.

Rumors are all over ,

Unnamed sources confirm Kellen Moore is practically the new HC , Jerry just wants Kellen to have at least 1 year experience as OC .

anyone who blindly continues to defend this trash HC after 10 yers of PROVEN mediocrity does not deserve a counterpoint
Blindly? LOL Whatever, troll. Just be honest and declare your loyalty to the Eagles. Cowboys Nation doesn't need you. With fans like you who needs enemies?

You have to hope Jerry feels pressure because of his age. That he doesn't have a lot of time left and he's willing to sacrifice some of the control for a real coach.

That has to be the mindset or this coaching change won't mean a damn thing. It'll just give you a new scapegoat to hate and blame everything on like you've done the last 24 years.

What pisses me off is what changed? Now no one is in his corner? They are 6-6. They’ve been a .500 team since he’s been here. Year 10 of the same crap and now you aren’t in his corner? You should’ve felt this way 4 years ago.

a lot of people did, but when the words were coming out the mouth of guys like TO and Dez, the homers had the excuses they needed. In other days, the defense was the excuse. Rob Ryan was the biggest excuse for the offensive ineptitude in 2012, when Jerry fired a bunch of position coaches as well and made John Garrett leave as well. Garrett that year basically said he needed the defense to give them more chances to score, meaning TOs. While Ryan was not great by any means, the fact is Garrett basically blamed his failures on the defense. Further, Jason didn’t carry the logic all the way though, because by the same logic, his inability to field an offense constantly put too much pressure on his own defense and all the TOs his offense kept giving to the opposition was a big reason we sucked.

Exactly.. if anything Jerry has given Jason all the time in the world to succeed as a coach. It wasn’t Jerry that messed up Jason’s plan and process, it was Jason and the Garrett family, probably in tune with Stephen, that destroyed this organization. When Wade wanted to bring in Dan Reeves to oversee their RG and Jerry was about to make it happen, Jerry turned at the last minute because of, most likely, Jason losing control. When Callahan was changing the offense, Jerry allowed Jason to interfere and play politics. Jerry chose Felix Jones over Chris Johnson. Wade preferred the latter, but Garrett wanted Felix. Wade wanted to bring in Solari as an OL coach with zone blocking schemes, but Garrett brought in Houck. Jerry traded away a draft to get Roy Williams to save Garrett’s ailing offense, while Wade never believed in a first round pick for a WR.

If anything, Jason Garrett is the biggest example of Jerry’s loyalty and emotion getting the best of him more than even guys like Troy Aikman.

So what purpose does it serve to leave Garrett in as the ultimate lame duck coach? If this organization is indeed finished with him, then why keep him as the current head coach? You don’t have a choice at this point, you have to can Garrett and put in an interim. The cats out of the bag. Can Jerruh not even figure how to do this situation right????

IMO they have several games they are likely to win and have a good shot at the Division. Everything at this point is about seeing if the team can develop some cohesion before the playoffs start. Garrett is gone after the season without a doubt but making a change late in the season and trying to institute a new scheme on the fly usually does more harm than good.

He will write and tell you his opinion as soon as Jerry issues it to him.
