Bo knowsBo was good..he only played 3 pro yrs.

Moose callBlocking, yes...though Moose was the main guy for that.
Not so sure about catching...Catch. Barry's receiving stats were a bit better, so it was at least very close.
Neither were Marshall Faulk in that area.
The is no question, though, that Emmitt was a supreme all-around RB.
Hey Dave. Dorsett was my hero...frankly, he could fumble inside the redzone.Dorsett was a jet engine !!!
I liked babe the pig too !!!!Babe Ruth (HR king, often spectacular, but struck out lot, but still had high average)
Lou Gehrig (consistent, solid and sometime spectacular, higher average, but HRs too)
There was nobody, ever, sweeter between the 20's!!Dorsett was a jet engine !!!
left twix--right twixBarry averaged 1527 yards rushing and 292 yards receiving and 11 TDs per year...for a whopping 10 years
Emmitt averaged 1222 yards rushing and 215 yards receiving, and 11.7 TDs per year for an insane 15 years.
Both are HOF RBs and that's good enough for me
ZOom ZoomThere was nobody, ever, sweeter between the 20's!!
Emmitt Smith is my favorite Cowboy of all time.
But Barry Sanders was a better running back. Hands down.
Emmitt was exceptional at falling forward for extra yardage and picking up first downs. He was the consummate chain mover, and he was an all-around back.
But nobody has matched the sheer brilliance and spectacular ability of Sanders. His style is all his own.
Name Barry Sanders offensive line.
Now name Emmitt's.
I don't think the Pro Bowl has anything to do with how good you are.
Couldn't agree more......Emmitt with the shoulder injury against the Giants sold me.I think Jimmy said it best. Barry was the better runner, but Emmitt was the better running back.
Barry was a better talent. Emmitt had the better career.
In the '90s that killed drives far more than it would in today's pass-happy league.I know he sometimes took a loss when he could have gotten that 1/2 yard. Not sure that kills a drive though.
I'd actually like to see evidence of that.
It's been repeated so often, and most now say it's a myth perpetuated over time.
The guy averaged 5 ypc for 10 years...which is preposterously absurd.
How many hall of famers played with Jim Brown? Specifically on the offensive side of the ball? Brown also had a hall of fame coach and arguably the greatest head coach of all time. Definitely a top 3 head football coach in NFL history
The rings would be the same here if they swapped places. You can have your highlights, give me the SB rings any day. .
I think that's underselling Barry's talent.Speed only.
The rings would be the same here if they swapped places.
Peete, Mitchell, and Batch.LOL. Did you use a crystal ball to predict that? Barry did not like running behind his blockers. Dallas OL was built for power running, that was NOT Barry Sanders. Detroit went to the spread to maximize Barry's talents. It is foolish to say that Barry would have had Emmitt's success simply by swapping the 2 backs.
