My sarcasm meter has been dysfunctional for some time. I think it broke when the Cowboys broke.:D

The Cowboys aren't broke, they just need a new identity. Like when Prince changed his name to that ambiguous symbol...

That was Romo's stats before the final drive. Last week he was lights out and his performance was certainly good enough for the Cowboys to win. Against the Chargers his performance contributed to the loss. Twelve completions out of 21 attempts for 163 yards and 1 TD is not going to cut it.

Bet if he threw an interception on the last drive it wouldn't be left out.

Do you ever say anything even close to intelligent? If you do, it's a rare occasion and I haven't seen it yet.

He was getting no pass protection yesterday and we were running the ball like crazy. If we had thrown it on the one yard line rather than letting Barber fail three times, he'd have had 3 TDs yesterday. Hard to complain about that. But leave it to someone like you.

Nope!! He doesn't.....

The offense should be scoring about 80 points for every thousand yards of offense generated. They aren't.

Romo's doing his job although it surely good be a little better. So I wouldn't call him All Pro this year but way good enough.

If you're getting the yards and not the points even though your QB play is good enough then who gets the blame. Personally, I blame the OC and I think this is where the blame actually lies. Too inconsistent. Quotes of too predictable. Too much smoke for there to not be a fire somewhere.

Whatever the problem it's on the offense. You decide.

Yawn tired of the excuses. Romo didn't complete a pass for like almost 2 quarters.

don't know if you were watching, but we ran the ball for most of the game.

Naw, I'll give you an example, the int he threw in the playoffs against the Giants at the end of the game doesn't count because he had to try to make a play. A qb throws a hail mary at the end of the half, that doesn't count either because he's just trying to make a play.

Where do you get this? The average offense generates 335 yards and 21.4 points per game. That's about 62 points per 1000 yards of offense. And that doesn't include points generated by defense and special teams, so the actual number should be a bit lower.

Dallas is only generated ~58 points per 1000 yards of offense, 23rd in the league.

he took the team down the field, with hope of having enough time to do it again, and scored a td. No one assumed it was over with romo at QB until the very last second. Prevent defense my ***.

You just have an agenda, and that is to put the blame on Romo when he is the absolute last person anyone should blame for this loss

Romo has done just fine this Dec and the whole year. In fact, he is proving that THIS Cowboy's team is missing pieces to be a SB caliber team.

Last few season, we lay the blame on Romo. Now, by playing well, he is opening the eyes of the public. We are missing PLAYMAKERS.

I listened to talk radio and Colin Cowher is right. We are missing the "wow" players. Players that will make a crucial play at crucial times. Honestly, as much as I love Ware. I don't know if he is a WOW player. I remember the days of Haley. He makes plays when we need him. Demarcus gets neutralized. Maybe it's because of the scheme. Maybe we don't have another threat opposite him so he is easily double or triple teamed. Nevertheless, I don't see him dominate. Maybe I am too harsh on the guy or expect too much.

Let me just try to list our "wow" players:

Offense: Romo and Austin. Why isn't Felix starting is beyond me? What are we saving him for??? I want to see what he can do with more touches.

Defense: Ware?, Jenkins?

I think what this team is missing is some upgrades at certain positions, especially on defense, that are good enough that people have to take notice and thus that allows our WOW players (Like Ware and Jenkins and Ratliff) to make more plays.

One of our biggest areas of need, for sure, is a playmaking FS. That would help in a major way, IMO.

Ratliff makes a lot of WOW plays, but then he also gets pushed around a lot.

I don't have an agenda, I defended Newman for years because he is one of my favorite players. My cousin said that he was done I said that he wasn't, I had to call him and tell him he's right. We are hoping so much that this Romo thing works out that we are grading him on a curve against his prior years performance when he should be graded like any other top 10 qb. Again 12-21-163 1td if that stat line is good enough for you then our expectations have really been lowered, that's all I'm saying.

Away from that I do think, and I said this earlier in the post, that we need more speed on the outside (a wow player) and that our wr struggle against man to man coverage. We don't stretch the field, when was the last time we completed a bomb, I can't remember.

I honestly think Romo's played well the last two weeks. This is the Romo I thought we needed to win games, but it's not. We need the go big or go home Romo. Despite good looking statlines and no turnovers, he's been outpassed by Eli and Rivers. As many of you know, the most efficient passer is going to win. I don't know if Romo can outpass anyone left on the schedule not named Jason Campbell playing controlled.

let's use the whole game, shall we?

Romo - 19/30 for 249yds, 2 TDs, 0 INTS, 111.7 rating
Rivers - 21/32 for 272yds, 1 TD, 1 INT, 89.6 rating

again, how is this Romo's fault?

Exactly what do you think would be a reasonable expectation for those 21 attempts?

Tell us the stat line that would satisfy you -- ___ for 21, ____ yards, ___ touchdowns, ____ interceptions.

Just fill in the blanks.

That is 13.5 yards a completion along with the TD pass and no turnovers. I would think most coaches would be pretty happy about that. What also is being left out is the fact Dallas was running the ball quite a bit.

The Romo haters are reaching big time in this thread.
Gasping for air.

I went back to 2007, when 13 Cowboys made the Pro Bowl and Romo was one of them. Romo's QB rating that year was 97.4, and his current rating through 13 games this year is...97.4!

If the other 12 Cowboys who made the Pro Bowl two years ago had maintained their level of play, we wouldn't be talking about how much Romo sucks right now.

Look at the long term or the short term, and you arrive at the same conclusion. Nobody else on this team has played better than Romo the last two weeks, but there are plenty who've played worse.
