We score, it's just only through the air.

For all the Power football that folks around here love, it continually evaporates in the red-zone.

It's called personel and coaching schemes

But if you recover you get at least a shot. We've all seen people win games with 1-3 seconds left in a game.

It's not ideal but the fact that they had the shot at all is better than having none at all.

Clearly that's on Romo as well. He must have forced him to fumble in that situation.

Just like someone pointing out he didn't complete a pass for a while there. I guess those 3 or 4 drops by our WRs were totally on Romo as well. Darn him for not throwing the ball down the field and then running down there and catching it himself.

There are several reasons why we've lost our last two games.

But for those blaming Romo, he is definitely not one of them. Being frustrated is fine after a loss, but Romo has probably been one of, if not our best player the last two weeks.

That is unacceptable. In week 22 last season Brady was 22/0 for 590 yards and two pregnant super models...
Now that was an extreme bangup week.

One thing everyone always seems to forget when criticizing in perfect hindsight every call that doesnt go right....

Jason Garrett see's these guys in a day more than any of us in our whole lives probably.

There's probably a reason he calls what he does. He's been around this group for three years, he knows what they do well, and what they dont do well.

Just my .02

That is not correct. Troy was spectacularly accurate with his passes.

I think you confuse on-the-field spectacular with fantasy-football spectacular

I'm not confusing anything. I'm responding to the points being made in this thread. The only viable complaint against the stat line being touted is the lack of passing yards and touchdowns -- fantasy football numbers, as you described them.

Aikman seldom passed for substantial yardage or touchdown totals.

yet you conviently left out his final drive where he got them into the endzone again and gave them a shot to kick the onside to try and tie or win the game.

please, the defense was in a prevent. 2 seconds left didn't leave any time for anything. Romo has been an average qb this year. Well behind Manning, Brees, Brady, Rivers, Favre, Warner, Schaub, McNabb, Manning, Rodgers etc......

*Shrugs* I couldn't care less what some people believe. If you think he sucks that your own problem.

That was Romo's stats before the final drive. Last week he was lights out and his performance was certainly good enough for the Cowboys to win. Against the Chargers his performance contributed to the loss. Twelve completions out of 21 attempts for 163 yards and 1 TD is not going to cut it.
Romo did what he had to do.

2 things that contributed to the loss that had nothing to do with ROMO.

1) If the OLine doesn't get blown up on consecutive downs inside the 3yd line and let the RB into the endzone

2) Folk doesn't miss his FG.

Obviously I'll readily concede that Manning, Brees, and Favre are playing better. They're playing better than anyone else in the league.

Lets take a look at the rest of the guys on your list though...

Romo for the 8-5 Dallas Cowboys:

22 Touchdowns
7 Ints
3500+ yards
97.4 QB Rating

Shaub for the 6-7 Houston Texans:
24 Touchdowns
13 Ints
3800+ yards
98.2 QB rating

Rivers for the 10-3 San Diego Chargers:
22 Touchdowns
7 Ints
3500+ yards
103.7 QB rating

Aaron Rodgers for the 9-4 Greenbay Packers:
25 Touchdowns
7 Ints
3500+ yards
102.5 QB rating

McNabb for the 9-4 Eagles:
18 Touchdowns
7 Ints
2,702 yards
95.9 QB rating

Brady for the 8-5 New England Patriots:
23 Touchdowns
11 Ints
3800+ yards
95.4 QB rating

Warner for the 8-4 Arizona Cardinals:
23 Touchdowns
11 Ints
3003 yards
97.0 QB rating

As I look at that list I see Romo is the same record, or within a game, of all but Rivers. He's thrown right about the same TD passes, give or take a couple, and he's tied for fewest INTs of any of them with Rodgers and McNabb. He has comparable yards, TDs, INTs (in the good way and not the bad where he's thrown 11 or more at this point like some of them have), and QB rating.

Yet he's playing well behind them? Looks like to me that you threw out a bunch of names of QBs to try and make it look like Romo is playing worse than half the league and it was proven, right here, that you're talking out of your ***.

Rodgers and Rivers are playing the best of that group, but they all belong in the conversation together.

So those stats you posted gives him a 98 QB rating... Thats not good enough to win?

If your QB has a 98 rating in a game and it isn't good enough to win, your team has serious problems.

Now that's just dumb.

There's something dumb here alright, and that something is between your keyboard and chair.

Romo has played FANTASTIC football in December and is the only reason these games have been close

Our offensive line, defense and kicking game are why we have lost two games. Oh, and pathetic coaching.

Look at the number of times we ran the ball in the game. The yards weren't there because we were handing the ball off most of the big drives.

Actually, if you're consistently good, you're probably in the playoffs and challenging for the Super Bowl. Aikman was seldom spectacular.

This was a continued attempt at sarcasm btw ;)

My sarcasm meter has been dysfunctional for some time. I think it broke when the Cowboys broke.:D
