Uh huh, we also followed it up with one of our best drafts in history.

Guess we are supposed to assume we can do that again cause we are supposed to be the best team in the league in the draft now.....and not only that, we are rumored to lose alot more players this year. Last year it was mostly cause of suspensions, this year more guys are just going elsewhere on the first day of free agency. We didn't deal with that as much last year and its a totally different situation.

We also pick #28, not #4.
I bet you anything you want to bet you have no clue what any team record will be. We might go undefeated and win the superb owl.

You also have no clue how the draft will go. Again no time to panic, the sky isn't falling

Just saying, its alot easier to count on the draft when your picking #4.

Not so much at #28.

You shouldn't count on a draft period. Until Dak, Collins and Brown showed what they could do nobody said jack about this team.

NFL.com reported that Romo will be fully released tomorrow at 4 pm ET, nothing about a June 1st release. Appears Dallas is going to take the full hit now meaning as of tomorrow we would have some $14 million this year so far and over $50 million next year until other signing take place.

Well you sound more like people were sounding after the 2014 season, very cocky.

Every year is different, every team needs to improve over the offseason......and we are not off to a good start.

Where did I say anything about how we will play? I said we don't know. We could lose every game but we could also win every game. Injuries happen, trades happen.....you know what panic and complain all you want. Tired of the same fans whining about everything even when we have a great season

Ok so now that Romo is released we have roughly 14,000,000 to work with. Where should this money get delegated? Carr or Claiborne ? Church or Wilcox ? One of the big DT's Williams or Poe? CB Bouye? I'd go Wilcox and Bouye and draft the rest of our needs...

We don't get cap relief in the amount of $14 million. We have to eat his non prorated signing bonus.

We had about 9 million and if Romo is not a June 1st cut we gain 5.1 million sir. 9 million plus 5.1 is 14 million sir.

release = STOOOOOPID; we release a valid commodity to "do the right thing" and then the giants get a pretty good WR...love it (FO sucks)

A lot of handwringing over losing players like Church, Wilcox, Carr, Claiborne, McClain, Crawford, and Williams. Aren't these the same guys who have been failing year in an year out? Aren't these the guys who can't stop anyone? It's time to rebuild the entire defense and that doesn't include overpaying the players who have been mediocre at best. Let it play out and see who they sign and draft. If we start the season with worse safeties, CBs, and DL, then I'll join in with all you negative nancies but I just can't get choked up about them not paying Barry Church $7 million a year to never make a big play.

It is funny that guys are derided all season long for not being good enough yet now that it would take a fortune to keep them they somehow become irreplaceable. I am one of Church's bigger fans, but he isn't worth $6m a year.

Apologize if this has been reviewed:
What is the difference between June 1 release designated release and not? And why not let him take up cap space/dead cost in 1 year instead of 2? Thanks

Nope, not if the reports of Tony being released as a June 1st cut are right. We get back money but can't spend it until June 2nd.

Will go to sign the draft players, and some FAs released later right before TC, for if we need any.

Romo's salary cap charge is still $24.7 million until June 2nd with a June -1 release, so we are still at 9 million (minus what we paid Brice):

Article 13, Section 6 (b) (ii) Acceleration.
(1) For any player removed from the Team's roster, or whose Contract is assigned to another Club via waivers or trade, on or before June 1 in any League Year prior to the Final League Year, or at any time during the Final League Year, any unamortized signing bonus amounts will be included in Team Salary for such League Year, except that for each League Year preceding the Final League Year, each Club may designate up to two Player Contracts that, if terminated on or prior to June 1 and if not renegotiated after the last regular season game of the prior League Year, shall be treated (except to the extent prescribed by Section 6(d) (iv) below) as if terminated on June 2, i.e., the Salary Cap charge for each such contract will remain in the Club's Team Salary until June 2, at which time its Paragraph 5 Salary and any unearned LTBE incentives will no longer be counted and any unamortized signing bonus will be treated as set forth in Subsection (2) below. If acceleration puts a Team over the Salary Cap, the Team will have seven days to conform with the Salary Cap, but may not sign any players until there is Room to do so under the Salary Cap.
