We do not need a DE. A stud CB and a WR is what is needed at this point. I am sure two first round picks can land us both.

Hey Fletch - hows it going... hope all is well...

Sure no prob.

So what do you think? Ware and Spencer good enough? or do we need another DE/LB.... whatever they wanna call them...

i think ware and spencer will be good enough for the 3-4 scheme we have them playing. i think we need our front 3 to do a better job on the run, however.

i did see ware go back into coverage like 3-4 times against the pats - just confused me as to why on 3rd and long we'd pull our pass rush BACK into coverage. clue me in?

To me this one's pretty easy. IF we don't trade up (barring Cleveland laying an egg the rest of the season and giving us a top 5 pick) in order to pick McFadden or possibly Slaton, we will pick a CB and a WR. No brainer. That's where our needs are. Again, the determining factor will be whether we stay pat with JJ and Barber at RB or try to draft a top notch back by moving up in the draft. If not, CB and WR. We don't really have any glaring needs anywhere else. I suppose, depending on how the draft goes, we could take a WR in the second round, but I think a CB with one of our first round picks is a must. As we all know, first round WR picks are iffy. With Glenn in what is most likely his final year and T.O. getting older we have to address the position and I think it has to be next year. We don't need any linemen (offensive or defensive), linebackers, TEs, etc. We have to shore up our secondary and infuse some young talent at WR. It's obvious.

Perhaps we could nab FA RB Michael Turner and FA WR Bryant Johnson or Bernard Berrian, freeing up our 1st two picks for CB and FS. Both Johnson and Berrian have decent size and speed and #1-WR potential I think.

If we spend another first day pick on a safety, I'll crap myself.

Watkins is doing a nice job in pass coverage. Hamlin is playing better every week. We have drafted a crap load of CB/DB/S's in the final rounds and moved most of them to Safety...enough already. Look around the league...very good safeties can be found in round 4...but you'd better know what you're looking for.

It's silly to call draft shots before you see what happens in FA, but without any consideration to FA, I'd use my first day picks on CB, WR, and RB or another CB. I'm sitting pat with the LB's and DL for now unless a beast like the USC DT is available (even then, Ferguson, Ratliff, and Tank should make that a luxury)...we're set on the OL and depth for a while, certainly set at TE.

I think I'd definitely go WR, CB, a developmental QB backup, and maybe double up on CB and WR, looking for role players the second go round.

The ONLY way I'd consider taking a defensive lineman in the first round is if the DT from LSU (Dorsey) could play the nose. That's the only way I'd even consider it. But, can he play the nose? Even if he can, that still isn't our position of most need. Clearly it's CB and WR. If we don't resign JJ, RB is just as important.

I agree with some that have posted that we should give up one of our number one picks for Larry Fitzgerald. That would be fantastic if we could afford him. A young PROVEN receiver with that kind of talent would put us over the top. I know I'd give up our own # 1, not sure about Cleveland's # 1. Yea, I'd give up either pick for Fitzgerald. Not both mind you. That would just be insane.

So you were in the area of the country that didn't get the game on TV?

clever response, but wrong....Watkins wasn't in on either of the blown coverages between CB and safety for two of the TD's.
