wow, ibaka is an idiot! he had a guy (not sure who) open going to the corner, instead goes for the layup with 2 seconds left! good result for the spurs, at least.

They are playing great, but that's a bit of a reach I feel.

How is it a reach? They don't have the historical significance, but they're steam rolling teams, as they've done all year. Three 11+ game win streaks, including a current 16 game streak. A playoff margin of victory at +18. Second highest scoring team, with good defense. It's a shame that people still lump them in with the grind it out 1999-2007, defense first Spurs teams. Because you're missing a hell of a show.

Except they don't have Magic, Larry or Michael.

I didn't watch either game, but what a great night....the Sixers and Lakers won.

I don't get the Sixers at all. The first half of the season they were almost unbeatable. Then in the second half, they couldn't buy a win. I will say this, they fight, fight, fight. They seem to be have a scatterbrain system...just all over the place on both ends....and it actually works for them. They remind me a lot of the Texas Longhorns basketball teams.....It is like, ok what kind of sets are you running, what in the hell are you doing....oh nevermind you won by 20. Still, it is so helter skelter it is difficult to watch.

The Celtics will probably win this series, but they better dig deep, cause Philly is trying to go Rocky on them.

As far as the Lakers go, I am glad they won (PUKE)......The Thunder are a very good team, but they are a very young team. They are winning games, but moreso cause the other team is going braindead at the end of games. Dallas should have won a few games in that first series, but showed no Championship mettle. The Lakers should have won game 2, but Kobe committed basketball suicide with his poor shots and turnovers. So the media darlings are now up 2-1 and very fortunate to be there. Since tonight is a back to back and the Lakers are much older, the edge has to go to the Thunder. However, the Lakers are at home, they have Championship pedigree, and you never know. Now that the series is going to for sure go 5 games, I don't care who wins tonight....though if the Lakers do, the series will go 6 for sure.

So now that last night happened.....what we want from this weekend....the Spurs to beat the Clippers twice...the Pacers to beat the Heat on Sundy.....and like I said, I don't care about the LAL/OKC game.

of course it is to you, you are a Mavs fan and blinded by your ultimate hatred of the Spurs.

For the record, my confidence has never been this high. I believe in the Spurs every year, but this year is different. It is like they are on an entirely different level. I have never seen them play this well for the entire season, both on the road and at home. I have never seen them just dominate teams they way they have been doing. They are deeper and healthier than I have ever seen them. They have the best coach in the NBA, 3 future HOFers, and a great mixture of youth and veteran role players.

I am not overconfident.....The Spurs are playing some of the best basketball I have ever seen......up there with the 80s Celtics, Showtime Lakers, Bad Boy Pistons, 2nd 3peat Bulls....I mean they are simply obliterating opponents.

Wow ur delusional dude especially in an asterick year. :laugh2:
This Spurz team would get swept by any of those teams haha
You make it easy to hate the Spurz lol

Playoffs are the same length, and everyone has the same chance. Plus, many more back to backs, and back to back to backs - so one would argue a much more grinding season. So, the asteriSk could stand for it being a more difficult title.

Regardless, what character should go next to the Mavericks record to denote that they were a total bust and the worst title defense in league history?

In the NBA shortened seasons are actually harder because of the quicker schedules and less injured marque players.

But I do not expect someone like you to understand that.

Asterisk year, really? The playoffs are full length, and the Spurs would have made it in anyway; Let's be honest, another 16 games would have had about a 0% chance of knocking the Spurs below the second seed, so (assuming they go on to win the title) the only argument you could make for it being due to the strike would be if homefield provided the winning edge over OKC in the West Finals or over Miami in the NBA finals (which would basically require a seven game series, a fairly unlikely event). Even then it would be highly speculative.

Come on man, you're being even more absurd than whoever it was that advanced this year's Spurs as an all time great team, and that's pretty absurd.

Floppers destroying the Spurs so far, but this game is far from over. With their great shooting Spurs can easily get back in it.

The Spurs just weathered the most perfect storm the Clippers could hope to generate. I expect the emotional toll alone will sink the Clippers in game 4.
