2012 NBA Playoffs Thread

btw, if the pacers beat the heat, i think they have a good chance of beating the celtics! they have home court, the size to bother them and depth. id give it a 55% chance they win

regarding bynum vs howard. are you guys serious? offensively, bynum might be slightly better, but howard works harder and averages more ppg for a reason, he is also in a hell of a lot better shape, so he doesnt wear down by the fourth quarter like bynum seems to. and to the "bynum is young, still developing" crowd, he is 24! he has been in the league 6 years! he is only 2 years younger than howard, who is the WAY better defender, and the much better player. bynum gets blocks, but he doesnt consistently alter shots, doesnt consistently rotate correctly and is out of position quite a bit for a guy thats supposed the be the second best center in the league

Bynum is clearly a better offensive player. He's terrific with either hand, his jump shot has improved tremendously, he's got very good hands, and unlike Howard he can make free throws. Howard scores most of his points off lobs and put backs. He's been in the league 7 years and still has yet to develop a consistent low post game. The only reason Howard averages more points is because he's the 1st option. Bynum is only getting worn down because of the ridiculous amount of minutes the clown plays him. Bynum is a terrific defender, but as I said earlier his teammates often put him in bad spots because they can't keep their man in front of him. Bynum has been in the league 6 years but what does that matter? It wasn't till this year that he become a featured part of the offense and obviously he improved tremendously. Howard has been option #1 since day 1. Bynum is far better offensively, Howard is better defensively. In short it's a wash.

I'm just not a fan of Howard, at all. Good player, but not as good as his fame suggests. He's on a team that's built completely around him. Offense runs through him so he should have better offensive stats.

In LA, the offense runs through Kobe and everybody else gets scraps. I think if Bynum goes to a team that runs the offense through him, I think he'd have a lot higher impact than what he does now.

Ultimately, it's about how the two players are used. They're both centers, but their teams use them quite differently.

Wade finally coming alive.

He needs to be coming alive, I don't think that the heat will win this series if they lose this game.

Sure in the 1st 3 quarters, but he chokes when it matters most.

Guy has absolutely zero help and is keeping Miami In this game. It's amazing.

Let's see how he finishes tonight

Wade has been terrible for most of the series, but he's come to play today.

Wade did NOTHING in the 1st half. If it wasn't for Lebron the game would have been over at the half.

40 17 and 9?!? Are you kidding me..unreal

If it wasn't for Wade the Heat would've lost this game.

Yeah, bc lebron didn't do anything to help

Of course... you can't get within 10' of Wade without getting whistled... he is key...

Don't believe I ever said that. LeBron played great, but so did Wade.

You can't expect lebron to be able to win the game without anybody on the entire team helping him out.

40 and 18 is ********

Yeah, LeBron did what he's supposed to do today.

I agree Wade was all kinds of terrible in the first half. But without Wade and even Haslem in the 2nd half, I don't think the effort by Lebron would've helped.

It was all Lebron until the rest of the team woke up.

This was actually a well-officiated game. I didn't really see any egregious calls being made for/against either team.

Wade did help him out today that's my point. In the other games he played awful, but today he played terrific.
