2012 NBA Playoffs Thread

How are they clearly the better team when L.A. outplayed them in 3 of the 4 games and simply choked and gave game 2 and 4 away? If PJ was still coaching we'd be up 3-1.

because the better team plays better when it matters, if the lakers were better, they wouldnt be down 3-1, no team just dominates an entire game (except the spurs :D ) its a game of runs, and the better team makes their run at the end and executes at the end.

Kobe was playing well, but he was getting most of his points from attacking the basket. He was getting close range shots and FTs. The Lakers were winning by double digits because Kobe was getting to the FT line, and Bynum and Gasol were getting the ball down low.

Once Kobe started holding the ball the entire shot clock and then chucking up a deep jumper, the offense went to garbage and the Thunder came back.

but at the same time, thats how they HAVE to play, just look at what gasol did with an open look! he threw it away with the game on the line! its true that kobe hogging the ball is their downfall, but its really their best option when gasol is being weak minded in the end of the game, and god knows what bynum will do. id rely on MWP more than gasol to be honest with you, and thats not saying much

ill give you this, they go away from bynum in the fourth quarter, and i dont get it, i have NEVER seen him make a mistake when its crunch time like gasol does. but we dont know what they know, maybe they are afraid of some match up, maybe they know the thunder will double and they dont trust bynum to make the kick back pass, who knows, but from my vantage point, with their current team, kobe hero ball is their best option

After tomorrow night the Clippers Nation will need a new shirt

Clippers Nation R.I.P.

hmm, i just saw metta mention that on the durant three, he thought there would be a screen, but there wasnt one, and he peeked, and in that moment, durant got the open look. now, he also said it was a "lack of communication" and if THATS true, THAT is 100% on the coach. but im still not buying blaming him for everything else

Can't believe im rooting for the spurs to win the west!

anyone but OKC at this point

btw, lakers fans at the staples center are PATHETIC! i was listening to the game on the radio, and man, i could barely hear the fans! the clippers game i could barely hear the commentators!

watching the spurs game now, since i was in austin i didnt get to watch it so i recorded it. i LOVE how blake makes a good play, runs back on D like he is 100%, when he messes up or missed, he acts like he is playing with a torn ACL or something! that guy is full of the stinky brown stuff!

DAMN we are down 33 to 11!!! NO WAY we can come back from this! a seemingly COMPLETELY healthy blake griffin! DOOM!!! :D

haha, magic is such an idiot! (when it comes to commentating, good businessman tho) "no, they cant come back" WHOOPS! HATER! he deserves his lakers chocking later on!

haha, that was awesome! wish i would have seen it live! BTW, patty mills might break the record for most buzzer beating handing the ball to the refs.

stop blaming the coach....this is all on the Great Chucker.

Brown is not the reason the Lakers are down 1-3. The Great Chucker is.

But all you want to do is blame the Coach, cause he is an easy scapegoat. Unfortunately for you, you are wrong in this instance. You won't admit that you are wrong, cause you don't really understand that you are wrong. But trust me, I am more than twice your age and I have seen so much more basketball than you can possibly imagine. You are wrong.

Game 2 and 4 are squarely on the shoulders of the Great Chucker.

This isn't the case either. Look at that roster. And Gasol is back to being Gasoft.

Sessions is outmatched, Gasol is playing like garbage, Bynum is streaky at best, and the Lakers bench is probably the second worst left in the playoffs after Miami.

These losses fall on Kupchak.

How am I wrong? Brown is freaking clueless. Clearly he didn't learn from the great Gregg Popvich. Pop obviously is well known for giving his best players rest during the regular season so they don't burn out in the playoffs. Kobe is in his 16th season and yet Brown insisted on playing him 40 mpg in the regular season and now his tank is basically empty.
