flopping is one thing....and i really have no issues with flopping, especially from defensive players who have been almost completely removed of any ability to play defense by the NBA rules committee, but faking an injury is another animal altogether.
As far as the flagrant foul all.....in the NBA that I grew up watching, that was just a hard playoff foul. However, in this modern, wussified version of the NBA, that was definitely a flagrant foul. So because of the current rules, I have no issue with the call......cause I know I would be calling for a flagrant foul had Memphis done a similar foul to a Spurs player.
The officiating did bother me in the 2nd half though. For the first 6 quarters, the refs allowed both teams to bang, claw, bump, push, and play big boy basketball. Then, in the 2nd half of game 2, every little bit of contact was being called. It was frustrating to watch. I can see if the teams are getting a bit out of control, but neither was doing so. If they are going to call it tight, do so from the being and stay that way for 48. If they are going to let the teams play, do so for 48 (unless it gets overly heated). Both Conley and Duncan got called for a cheap foul that neither committed and it forced both of them to the bench prematurely.
Now onto Pop, I have no idea why Danny Green got so few minutes in the 4th quarter. His defense has been outstanding and he is very efficient on offense. I feel Pop screwed up by not playing Danny more.
Well onto Memphis, and I feel the long layoff will be very beneficial to the Spurs.
