Very talented team. Benn+Seguin = another chance at an Art Ross for one of them again.
Hope the make the playoffs this year. They are my West NHL team.

There "lack of D" was mostly national media hyperbole from their issues early last season. If you go look at how they played the second half of the season, their D wasn't anywhere near as bad as the national media made it out to be. Hell, defensively they were in the upper half of the league at the end of the season. Their biggest issue at the end of the year was goal tending.

This year, the defense is playing somewhat similar to the end of last year and so far (subtract game 2) and their goal tending is far better too.

They are tied for first in the murder, death, kill (i.e. central) division and that is exactly how they are playing. If you look a the two teams they are tied with. I believe both of them have played a much weaker schedule thus far.

That definitely isn't true! Defense is provided by your positional players. (centers, wings, and defensemen) Goal tending is by your goalie.

If a team shoots the puck 20 times, but your defense either blocks or forces the player's shots to not be on goal say 10 of those 20 shots. That's your defense doing it's job.

Of of those 10 shots that do reach the goal tender, the goal tender lets 2 in, your goal tender has an 0.800 save percentage. An 0.800 save percentage will get you released in the NHL.

A 0.920 or better save percentage is what you want from an NHL goalie. Kari Lehtonen had a 0.903 last season. That will get you fired as a NHL goalie in most cases. It didn't, instead they just brought in a second #1 goalie and they are swapping games.

The defense has been solid, and they have young depth who can step in... Nemeth hasn't even played a game yet. Stephen Johns as well. Best puck posession team to start the season and they even have a top 10 penalty kill.

That was an AWESOME game! We got goals from two defensemen and Janmark scored again!

The Pens went on a basically 6-3 Power Play when they pulled their goalie for 2 minutes, what happen? haha we got two shots on an empty net goal which damn near looked like more than the Pens could do! lol

I was exhausted yesterday and didn't get to watch it. Though I did see that they were down 3-0 before I went to bed. That didn't make me happy, especially after ****ing the bed against the Panthers, When I saw they won this morning scoring 4 unanswered, I was very happy. Especially the what was it. 17-2 shots on goal in the 3rd? That is domination!

I will probably watch the condensed version of the game when I get home from work today.

What a way to end a game that was not going well for the Stars! They come ROARING BACK to tie to in the 3rd and Jamie Benn wins it in 3-3 overtime!

Oh I agree, they are a lot of fun to watch. Even when they lost 6-2 to the Panthers the other night, the game was still a lot of fun to watch. They can score a lot of goals in a hurry. They've already proved that several times this year already.
