I just want Alabama to be OUT of the playoffs. To me the top teams are Clemson, GA, Ok and Wisconsin.
I wouldn't mind that final four.

I think the team playing the best right now is Auburn though.
Hard to beat a good team twice, so we'll see if they can handle Georgia again.

I think the playoff committee may luck out again with another relatively-controversy free selection. It seems to me that the overwhelming number of people agree the winners of the ACC and SEC are in. Also seems to me the general populace agrees OU and Wisky are each in if they win.

The fun (i.e. controversy) kicks in if OSU wins. Not sure there is much consensus regarding them or Alabama taking the #4 spot. Putting a 2-loss OSU team over a 1-loss Alabama team might take some moxie. Meanwhile, an OU loss opens the door for Alabama.

Can't wait to see how the Big XII game is officiated. Any time a TCU player sneezes, they'll call a 15 yard unsportsmanlike. :D

TCU has a couple of really good players returning for this one.
Could be interesting.

Yeah it'll be interesting - and also rather ironic if the Big XII *loses* a playoff spot because of the CCG whereas the consensus from years past is they suffered for *not* having one.

Meanwhile--rich get richer.

For the 2018 incoming class per Rivals:
  • Ohio State has the top rated class
  • Clemson has the # 1 overall player (QB Trevor Lawrence) , 2 in the top 5 and a 3rd in the top 5 considering them. lol
  • Georgia has the #2 QB and 2 in the top 7.
  • Miami has the 3rd rated overall class
  • Oklahoma has the 7th overall rated class
  • Auburn the 9th

Without the divorce and all the chaos in is life in Florida, I would not have expected him to go to Tx AM.
But combine that with that mega contract...and there he goes.
I think he was making around $5.5-6 mil..and up to 7 mil with bonuses.
That goes up to $7-7.5 mil.
So the money alone would not be it...both contracts were massive.

I bet the buyout is huge, as I think he just signed a new contract with FSU in January. Friggin coaches can leave on a dime. Screws the recruits

The SEC West is already crazy good. Possibly add another now.

also...Look for Miami to really start racking up in recruiting now FL.

Congrats Saquon. Gonna miss ya next season. WE ARE PENN STATE
th

Penn State’s Saquon Barkley made Big Ten history Thursday, becoming the first offensive player to win three major postseason football awards. Barkley, was named the Big Ten’s top offensive player for the second consecutive year. He also repeated as the conference’s top running back and was named its No. 1 return specialist, bringing an unprecedented collection of hardware to Penn State.

Barkley became the first player to win those three awards and just the second to claim three trophies in one season. He joins former Michigan standout Jabrill Peppers, who was the linebacker, return specialist and defensive player of the year in 2016.

"Saquon Barkley, college football's most outstanding player, deserves Heisman Trophy"

It was sometime in 1987 that I was among the first people invited to participate in an enterprise that has since eroded the veracity of what had long been the greatest individual award in team sports. Respect for the brand still lingers, but the Heisman Trophy no longer maintains the legitimacy it did in the days before Heisman Watch.

MORE: Barkley making run as Penn State's best RB of all time

We’ve all heard of the Butterfly Effect, so I probably should have known something so innocuous could do so much damage.
A colleague from The Rocky Mountain News called one day at my desk at The Pittsburgh Press, asking if I would be willing to cast a weekly vote in their Heisman straw poll. As both publications were owned by Scripps Howard, and the poll would be distributed by the Scripps Howard News Service, I’m not sure I had much choice. Honestly, though, I didn't see the downside.

I didn't perceive that, one day, this sort of exercise would take the Heisman so far afield from the mission to honor college football’s most outstanding player. It has gotten to the point that someone as magical as Penn State running back Saquon Barkley will be denied the trophy that ought to be his.

There is no player in college football this season whose presence in a game screams more loudly: YOU MUST WATCH THIS.

When Barkley is on the field, the impossible not only is possible, it might just be a moment away. It might be him fielding the opening kickoff, and returning it the length of the field for a touchdown.http://www.sportingnews.com/ncaa-fo...r-mayfield-oklahoma/1khoo4th4hk6fz28t78694za8

damn, hope the aggies arent in so much debt with that stadium loan, buyouts, and now this contract...they already had to borrow from the academic side before so we tax payers picked up the tab.

In the 2016, Texas AM had the highest revenues , 197 million, in all of college sports....topping the perennial leaders Ohio State and Texas.

Here were the top 10:

  1. Texas AM
  2. Texas
  3. Ohio state
  4. Michigan
  5. Alabama
  6. Florida
  7. LSU
  8. Oklahoma
  9. Tennesee
  10. Penn State

Revenues arent the same as profits, but I suspect its close.

Good, now they can pay what they owe from years of debt and red bottom lines...

I'm guessing that was the result of them completing their stadium remodel. Probably provided them with lots of luxury boxes to lease at high prices.

AAC championship game between Memphis and UCF was a great game that many probably never saw.

UCF wins in second OT 62-55. This gave them an undefeated season. Sorry Memphis and @Yeagermeister.
Great game.
