I’m not sure how many remember watching the most special Masters in my lifetime in 1986 when Jack made the historical run on the back nine for his 18th major?

I remember that quite well and was thinking about that yesterday. :)

Fantastic day of golf and a great finish.
Was rooting for Rose and/or Rory(who could have won by 5 if he could nail 3 foot putts).
Was awesome having Tiger in the mix.
But slow and steady won the race. Huge congrats to Francesco who is THE inform golfer in the world right now.

Euros had a nice day, but they haven’t had many in the recent past. Bring on the Ryder, bro!

Yeah, and this point has been beatin’ to death this morning by all the pundits (no offense, Win)

He used to crush the psyche of his opponents on the back nine. He is older now and trying to beat the yips that derailed his career.

It’s still an awesome story from the golfer with the highest peak in, arguably, any sport, ever, all-time
Tiger's wife beat the Wins out of him.............Hell hath no fury

You're obviously not a fan of Tiger, but there are no "we all suck now' tournaments on the PGA tour.

And you obviously haven't read all of my posts. It has nothing to do with being a fan of Tiger or not. I am a fan of golf. I would post Ron Whites Tiger Woods skit from but I'd surely get another benching.

I'm annoyed at the sports media for rubbing one out every time he comes close now. "He ALMOST won the Valspar Championship." He "gave himself a chance" at the Arnold Palmer Invitational. "He ALMOST made the cut at the U.S. Open."

" WOW!! We need to talk about this for the next 2 days and mostly ignore everything else in sports. That's what bugs me.

Tiger is nearly my age and I root for him. Just get sick of them talking about him for hours on end when he's not relevant right now.

Did you make the same derogatory remarks about Nicklaus?

What derogatory remark did I make?

If you mean by being directed at the sports media, then yes. I made those same remarks about Nicklaus. The greatest of all time but I didn't need to here how he was "in the hunt" every time, once his time had passed.. Show me the leaders. When Tiger catches them or when Nicklaus caught them, now I'm interested.

That wasn't in the post you quoted and replied to at all. And he does suck right now. Anyone who says otherwise is delusional.

If he gets back to form, GREAT! As I said earlier, it would be great for the sport. In the meantime, tell me what the better golfers are doing.

He just beat most of the best golfers in the world,
and I’m just not generally into disrespect. We can disagree about that.

Good night, sir.

When did almost start to count. I guess we just settle for average now and have to talk about it for days on end
almost doesn't count...... he choked the lead away

This!

Much respect to Tiger but I don't need to here about a now average golfer who can beat "most" of the best golfers on a very rare occasion now when I watch Golf or Sports Center. He was great but still has some screws loose in his head and is only getting older.

Seems like the main point here is "He came close." and "He almost made the cut." WOW!

Get back to me when he's actually winning again.

As another poster pointed out earlier, these younger guys aren't afraid of him now. I'd rather hear about them instead.

Spieth should thank Tiger b/c nobody is talking about his utter collapse. Has Spieth lost "it". Is he a choker whose just not as good as he used to be?

The fact is that golf is difficult regardless of age, and coming back from a spinal fusion and playing like Tiger did at the British Open is unprecedented. Tiger at his age and after that surgery shouldn't even be on tour.

I get that your sick of the coverage but show some respect. He's a historical figure in golf regardless of how many chicks he's banged. Jack got the same attention well into his 60's every time he picked up a club. All the media talking about Tiger wouldn't be talking about golf at all if he wasn't in the mix.

LOL. 'He does suck right now'??? Ok guy, hope you enjoy watching those 'better golfers' because you just eliminated 96% of the entire field. Typical Tiger hater post.

(I absolutely HATE long posts but I think that this reply is definitely worthy of one.)

And that is his best finish in 10 years........sad

I do enjoy Hate watching Tiger.......rooting for him to miss cuts and disappoint the slobbering media and cocky fans is fun for me....... watch Tiger on Thurs and Friday and then watch Spetih and DJohnson and Day and McIlroy battle it out on Sundays

But his historic significance is relative. There’s no other story bigger in Golf than him chasing another major. Thats reality whether we like it or want to accept it.

Look at the crowds hovering over him. I realize not everyone is interested or embracing but why else do you think the media and broadcast are slobbering over Tiger.

While I am a Tiger fan, I can respect this. There are certain individuals I love to hate. Lonzo Ball being one because of his father. I hated Ronda Rousey and wanted her to get KO'ed. I hated Sergio Garcia. Watching them fail is enjoyable. It keeps me interested in their events. Some tune in to watch them win, others tune it to watch them fail. That's what happens in sports.

It’s better than some of these murderers , rapist, dog killers and domestic violence the NFL is churning out for role models.

Last time I checked cheating on your wife isn’t a crime. Some of the greats in Golf cheated on their wives and that list begins with the King. Infidelity on the PGA Tour is widespread. Always has been.

I’m not condoning Tigers behavior but Id argue he is still a role model for many and his comeback sets another great example in his determination and dedication he portrays which are fine examples to the youth.
