Jaylen samuels should be our new running back
Actually what was said was they have to have 3 tech traits...... Doesn't mean they will play the 3. That being said I agree with you on Payne, it's very alarmingThat sounds like excuses. We're talking three years. That's less than 2 TFLs a year. I assure you Vita Vea's not pinning his ears back one gapping and he put up double that number. What you describe is a 1 tech. They're not drafting a 1 tech in the first round here. If they take a DT he's going to have to play the 3 for Marinelli. Which means getting up the field and making plays in the backfield. Something Payne hasn't done.
Again, the "tied up blockers"excuse is all too convienent; someone forgot to tell Marcell Dareus, A'Shawn Robinson, Jarran Reed, et cetera.
In fairness, Reed and Dareus were DEs in the Bama 3-4. Payne was a NT. Robinson played DE in 2013, moved to NT in 2014 and then back to DE in 2015. He had zero sacks in 2014 as the NT but 9 total sacks the two years he was at DE. If you look at the NTs in the Bama defense, none really put up big sack or TFL numbers.
A player that strong and explosive should have more than 5 tackles for loss over 3 years. Especially on a defense that talented.
I like this dude....he would be a nice plan B for our OG spot.Austin Corbett - C - Wolf Pack
Nevada OL Austin Corbett will work out for the Tampa Bay Bucs, Tennessee Titans, Cincinnati Bengals and Dallas Cowboys, according to Tony Pauline.
Corbett is likely viewed at a variety of positions, mostly center and guard, and could fill a utility role early on after being selected in the third or fourth round. That is an important player on NFL rosters, and Corbett could use it to develop into a starting role.
Jumbo Joe’s replacement
so he is one of the 30...official visit??Draft Analyst's Tony Pauline relays that Boise State LB Leighton Vander Esch has both a private workout and official visit scheduled with the Dallas Cowboys.
Pauline was hearing rumblings of the Cowboys' interest in Vander Esch dating back to the Senior Bowl. That interest has understandably not abated following a strong showing at the NFL Scouting Combine -- the 6-foot-4, 256-pounder tested in the 96th percentile of NFL linebackers, the best overall mark in the position group. Holding pick No. 19 for April's draft, Dallas is near the front edge of Vander Esch's likely draft range.
