2018 Draft Chatter

Normally the #1 pick is known in advance. #1 drafting team has plenty of time to assess and make a decision without any time pressures. Its draft day and still no word. I believe one of the following is happening:

1. Its all down to money. Browns are playing the various QBs off each other to get the best value. They'll draft whoever accepts the lowest or least guaranteed contract.Typical Browns.

2. Their preferred QB does not want to play in Cleveland. There's a game of chicken going on - "draft me and I'll sit out for a year........."

I think the reason CLE is playing so close to the vest is because they also have pick 4. They don't want teams to know in advance so that pick 4 retains most trade value.

Yep and you don't want teams to know what you pick for 4 because teams may trade up to 2 or even 3 if possible to get the player you want before Browns do. Otherwise they think they are comfortable where they are at in belief the player would drop to them.

you would have to move to 2. No way Jets are trading out of 3 after what they gave up to the Colts to get to that pick.

Never know. Browns pick player Jets may want and being dejected probably trade down afterwards to get some picks back.

I still say pick Barkley and pick QB in 4th even if Giants and Jets need QB as well.
