It's been a tough stretch this last month and a half. Lot of injuries..terrible starting pitching. A bit of underperforming at the plate.

Bryce isn't doing well ba wise..but still has 29 2b, 17 HR 70 RBI .374 OBP and hitting .400 with RISP.

Not terrible, but certainly not his best. Won't matter until we get better pitching anyway. Can't score 8 runs a game.

Nail on the head.

The bullpen has been dreadful– One of the worst in MLB.

They'll have to over-pay for a starter. Probably get better value with a couple relievers.

The bullpen hasn't been as bad as people think. They've been hit the hardest with injuries and still keep us in games most.nights even with how overworked they've been. Our starters fail to go.more than 5 most nights.

The challenge is they'll have to over-pay for a starter and I don't know if they would do that.

Smyly worked out ok for one start. At this point anything is an upgrade.over our 4 and 5. Lol

But yeah I don't want to give up as much as we'd have to.to get Grienke or Ray.

That entire series looks great. I've been so busy here, over the last week or so that I didn't see a single game but man, looked like one hell of a series.

Ugh. What was looking like a promising season for the Phil's sure made a turn for the worse. Harper 1HR since the All-Star break, BUT, he does have 72 RBI's.

The offense is hot and cold. Mostly cold which brings me to say, Kapla & the rest of the coaching staff is horrific. Time's running out. This team will be lucky to end up 3rd in the Division.

Never thought I'd be saying this, but I miss Amaro. The front office is blind not seeing how dreadful this bullpen still is. Half game out from a wild card spot, PATHETIC!

Not all that far off his lifetime average of .276

To me, Harper is like Daryl Strawberry and Eric Davis. Tons of hoopla, but never lived up to it.

True his average isn't far off.

His power is off some and his K's are up.

Straw and Davis are two pretty good comparisons.

This time of year, losing teams give up players for prospects with the hope the future is better. No My New York Mets. No siree. These guys are 14 games behind the braves and 6 games behind the wild card. But apparently they believe they have a chance so they are sending prospects to the Jays for Marcus Stroman. A nice pitcher who needs a good defense behind him. That aint the Mets. I dont get it. Brodie Strikes again...

I don't get it either.

They give up their #4 & #6 rated prospects in the deal.

Stroman can chew up some innings, but he's been very inconsistent from year to year. He's a contact guy who if he doesn't get good ball placement doesn't have the FB to save him.

Never realized he's only 5'8" tall.

This is one of my favorite sports day of the year. It's trade deadline day. I remember when I was young, sitting in a car listening to KMOX out of St Louis (it was the only baseball station with a strong enough signal) to hear if the Mets traded Tom Seaver. They did and I was heart broken. Little did I know that night would always be referred to in Mets lore as the Midnight Massacre. But still you were excited that they may possibly be getting some great players in return. I learned early on the Mets did not know what they were doing. 42 years later, the incompetence continues.

Oh yes, back when the trading deadline was June 15th.

But hey the Mets got the magnificent bat of Doug Flynn (yeah I know Steve Henderson was the centerpiece of what the Mets got in return for Seaver).

They also traded Dave Kingman that day to the Padres for Paul Siebert and Bobby Valentine (another big-time bat!).
